[D&D3.5] Paths of Legend: The Azgundi Tournaments (OOC)

Monkey's got an itch to run another game. Player attrition killed my last attempt at a second game on EN World, but I think I'm ready to give it another go.

Question is, what should I run?

Since you guys would get first dibs on player spots (;)) what do you think?

Something in Paths of Legend? 3.5 or 4E or another game system? I'm open to suggestions. :D

As someone who has been in both your games, I would be interested in playing in a 3.5 setting, as I haven't yet made the leap into 4e. Now, your Paths of Legend games are very interesting and would love to be involved with that, but wouldn't say no to any other type of setting.

I've been working on another setting on the side, Crazy Monkey's Sandbox (currently being used by a sort of consortium of DMs in the Play-by-Post Haven...first time I've designed a setting that other folks are actively using and that I'm not currently running anything in...rather nifty experience), designed for less plot-driven style play. I could also do something in a "generic" setting and I have a fair number of the Dragonlance 3.5 books, though I have yet to thoroughly read them.

Speaking of settings...

Paths of Legend Campaign Setting has been updated with info on the Dragon Disciple and Duelist prestige classes and how they fit into the setting.

I'm definitively interested if there's room! I'd also prefer a 3.5E as I don't have 4e and don't intend to buy it.
Any setting would be fine since I don't know them apart from Dragonlance I played some time ago.

*tosses two copper pieces on the table* well here is my two cents:

I would love to go for another character, but i have a total of 7 en world characters going, so i am not quite sure if i could do another character. I should have no [roblem in truth.

If i were to play another game I would prefer 3.5 or 3.5 pathfinder. I probably will NEVER take the 4.0 plunge in all honesty as for setting, i am actually not toofond of dragon lance, personally.

I guess that is all i can think of for now. I am finding hard to concentrate as i am enjoying my christmas present from my brother and sister in law. it is a homedics icush ... a chair cusion that massages to the synch to sound such as music. I haven' tried it to neverwinter nights, but am sure it would be cool to diablo II ! so, if there are any errors in my typing it blame it on the cusion!

I am stretched pretty thin, but I like your GM style. I'm cautiously interested then, but I'd need to know more about the settings and the character options to make sure I could squeeze enough creativity out to do it justice. :)

Well, my Paths of Legend setting is the one I'm most comfortable running stuff in. :D

I'm going to let it stew for a little bit...need a story outline or the game will fall flat very quickly. ;)

Narrowing in on Paths of Legend, there are actually five different eras available for play (though two of them are not 3.5).

3.5 Era

This is the era that encompasses the Azgundi Tournaments.

4th Edition Era

1,000 years later.

What Came Before

This is the setting that existed before the current 3.5 Era setting. It is Earth, several thousand years after a magical apocalypse wiped out the modern world. It also uses the 3.5 ruleset.

D20 Modern Era

Not an era, actually, but the setting that lies on the other side of the Shadow Barrier...modern Earth in the aftermath of a magical invasion.

Rise of the Vashar

Just a couple of hundred years after the current 3.5 era, this time period deals with the rise of the Vashar Empire and draws heavily from the mature audiences books Book of Vile Darkness and Book of Exalted Deeds.

Rise of the Vashar please!!!

I did one mature sequence the other day in my campaign with a evil cult temple receiving the visit of my players. pretty strange for me to write a horror movie kind of setting.. not sexually oriented, just very gore
I warned the players first and worked well..

Also I had a character concept in a similar type of campaign - which unfortunately died (the campaign) which i could raise from the..dead!

Well, if we count Tragedy at Silvergard as Episode 1 and Azgundi Tournaments as Episode 2...

Rise of the Vashar era play would contain heavy spoilers for Episode 5 (ish, explained below), also called Rise of the Vasher (kind of a prelude to the era).

Monkey's Super Secret Campaign Outline...Revealed!

Names only...wouldn't want to give away any spoilers. :D

Episode 1: Tragedy at Silvergard

Episode 2: The Azgundi Tournaments

Episode 3: The Anovian Gambit

Episode 4: Call of the Awakened

At this point in the story, the heroes will have four different paths to travel, which they can take on in any order. So, episode 5 contains 4 chapters.

Episode 5.1: Perils of Earth and Water

Episode 5.2: The Rise of the Vashar

Episode 5.3: The Prophecy Fulfilled

Episode 5.4: The Huntress Untamed

Episode 6: Coils within Coils

Episode 7: The Convergence War

Each episode is intended to roughly cover three character levels, with Episode 5's chapters covering about one level each. That's a very rough estimate however and is subject to change during play.
