D2: Lost Manor (nimisgod judging)

In the confusion and the screaming and the pain, ao'Thuir chooses to just sit down in the room and wait for it to subside. With the note on the chest he doesn't think it too wise to break it at the moment. Perhaps later...

[ooc: sorry to see you go Huge. Been a blast. Good luck with everything IRL.]

Once his companion are confortable, Ridik head to see Ignatious. "Is it ok, do you need us to explain the situation? You know, miss, that we are here to help Igntious. He asked us. We are here to help him to find his grand mother's mansion. We think we know where it is, but we wanted to have some confirmation. We might have some more answer from what it is contain into teh chest, it is just that the grand mother was very protective of her things. I must tell that a mansion is generally worth a lot and worth the trouble to protect it, but it seems she protect it very much at the point that she put enough trap to almost kill two of our companions. We will take care of them... hey! I know... I'll let you give the detail." says Ridik to Ignatious and Heather before coming back to his group.

"I was thinking. We might heal them quicker than that. Why not simply go fetch a cleric at the Temple of Hyrag. They could help to cure them. It is not that cheap service, but cheaper than using magical item and quicker than to wait for me to have enough gift to heal them back to consciouness... or to perfect health. It is a few gold pieces for each, but could worth it."

OOC: what time of day is it getting to be? sorry for one liner, just need more info before I post... also, where is everyone? I guess those unconscious don't have much to add but perhaps we could move this along a bit . . .

ooc: I believe Rinya is laying down, no longer bleeding all over the floor. :)
Regarding 'Rent-a-Cleric', I believe Iggy said something about some up front money. Rinya wouldn't object if her share were used to get her back up on her feet. Not that you know that.

--- The Third Floor ---

The party mills around the third floor while Ridik speaks to Ignatious and Heather. Heather is still rather shaken by what she has seen. Ignatious rapidly agrees to give the party their coin immediately. Heather immediately begins demanding to know what money he is talking about, how much and why he is giving it to 'these adventurers'. While Ignatious is trying to calm her down and allow himself to get the party's money.

Footsteps are heard pounding the boards of the stairs from bellow.

- ooc -
How much would cure spells cost? Anyone know off the top of their head?
Richard: Its approaching evening and getting dark outside.

[SBLOCK=OOC]A spell cost: 10 * Spell Level * Caster level. Going and fetch a 1st level cleric at the temple of Hyrag (located between the clerk ward and the merchand avenue, so that should be too far) and ask him to cast spell on them should cost something around 30 gp + some fee for having to come to Ignatious house if we ask him for 3 spells (supposing he has 1 bonus spell from a wisdom of 12 and he has the healing domain, which is reasonnable to think that)[/SBLOCK]

Richard - take charge kinda guy... sorta.

Richard stands in the midst of the group, surveying the situation. Several members stand waiting for something to happen. Their employer is squabbling with his relative again... He begins speaking aloud, though his voice is not forceful, it does carry some note of authority.

"We are casting about like children here. I do not presume to lead anyone, we've only just met, however we Must come up with a plan before we lose someone, and I don't mean like Hedron, who has apparently seen our comrades near death and his own injuries as a bad enough omen to simply leave without so much as a fare-thee-well. Mayhap he shall return, a case of nerves that shall run it's course, but the look I saw in his eyes was not of a man that cared for the way things are going and I doubt he will be back."

Looking each of the group in the eye as he surveys the room, Richard continues with a slightly softer tone.

"I do not accuse or admonish anyone here, we all did what we thought was best at the time... yet if we do not act with more thought and organization in the future then it could be any one of us laying here, never to draw breath again... and for what? We still know little more than we began with, even our enemy up to this point has been an already dead grandmother who apparently did not want even her own family to learn her secrets and was willing to kill to keep them!"

Turning to Heather, Richard's tone softens somewhat. "Madam, please understand that we are here under the assumption that we can help Ignatious. Yes we are here under a contract and expect to be paid, yet that is an issue for you and Ignatious to work out. These brave people put their life on the line to help Your family. I for one have no problem facing a foe in combat if the need is there... yet I doubt any of us expected to face deadly combat in your attic..." Richard turns to Ignatious, his face now stern. "The deal was to help you find a property that is rightfully yours. If we are to face deadly peril from unknown foes before we even leave the town walls then mayhap we need to renegotiate. That will be something the whole group needs to decide. Ignatious IF there is anything more you know of this situation, then we need to know it Before someone breathes their last over this confounded mystery! Sir, go get the money, fetch the healer and then we need to talk. Lady Heather please pause your questioning until our friends are healed, then we need to have an open talk of all that we know before we proceed."
With that Richard simply looks at Ignatious impatiently, expecting him to get help without delay.

OOC Richard does not have the leadership feat nor does his charisma merit lots of group speaking, this speech is more of a reflection of his "lets get it done" attitude than a bid at group leadership. I did not write up an in-depth background because I want to 'peel back the layers' through role play. Suffice it to say that Richard Has had some experience with leadership... his feelings on this experience are the subject of further RP =-)

Feeling somewhat embarrassed at his lack of leadership, ao'Thuir steps up and offers to set out for the priest right away. He'll head to the temple of Hyrag and see if an acolyte can come back here as quick as possible. He has some coin (48gp) of his own, so if Ignatious is not able to come up with it by then, he'll pay to have his friends healed.

Gardner groans slightly.

OOC: Gardner will insist on paying for any healing out of his own money or his share of the loot when he wakes up. Just wanted to post to say I'm back, hopefully Gardner will be soon.
