"Come on then Richard, lets get over to the temple." says ao'Thuir leading his friend out into the street again.

Richard watches as Ignatious slowly capitulates to the harping Heather. Shrugging slightly he follows ao'Thuir down the stairs and on towards the Temple. Remembering his recovered purse he mentally calculates his funds and hopes it will be enough to get the group healthy.

As he walks he leans towards his companion, "So... I've travelled long boring caravan routes and trained and trained and trained for combat. This is my first 'real adventure'. Please tell me it gets better?" The almost pleading tone of the fighter is far from his terse and commanding voice used upstairs. A half smile plays across the armored man's features.

"Oh yeah it gets better. There will be stuff that is far more dangerous than a couple of skeletons. Pirates are fun, as are assassins. I'm hoping that we find some real opposition at this manor though. Ignatious had better not end up cancelling the contract." ao'Thuir replies as they walk down the street.

--- The Temple Party: ao'Thuir, Richard and Guard Hoffner ---

The trip the temple of Hyrag is uneventful. With a member of the Guard present, people pretty much give the group a wide berth. The priests expect a 50 gp 'donation' up front, with any balance to be payed once the necessary spells have been cast. Assuming that Richard and ao'Thuir agree, they return with a young cleric about half an hour later. The cleric is a young man, slightly built. Perhaps he would be described as handsome were it not for the sour set of his mouth. He says very little and walks quickly on the way back to the scribe's residence.

--- The House Party: Lucian and Ridik ---

Its not that diffucult to listen in on the conversation between Heather and Ignatious. Heather calls him a fool, reminding him of the years they have invested in the shop, the need to save if they are going to be able to give their daughter a good dowry and support their son in his studies. She tells him he has responsibilities, and insists that even if they find the manor, even if they are able to live there, and even if they are able to make a go of it, they will still just be common folk. They will never be accepted by the other gentry. She warns him that he risks everything, and stands to gain very little.

Ignatious's protestations become weaker and weaker. it is obvious that he had not talked this through with Heather before he started. And its fairly clear who wears the pants in the relationship.

Ridik whispers to Richard. "Poor man. I wouldn't be in his situation. Her wife seems pretty much the leader of this couple. What do you think? We try to convince her? We offer our service for a percentage of the gain, so if we find nothing, we got nothing, or we let them decide, which will probably end by not even being paid... after look at Rinya and Gardener, I am not sure what is best. I havn't been in such a situation... well, I havn,t adventure much yet, but I seeing that cool my interest for it... I still think it is a good way to discover new knowledge about arcana, but I think I'll think twice before going into anything."

On the way to the temple, Richard answers ao'Thuir's doubts about the mission with a simple statement, "He will, at the very least, pay for this healing and any resources we've used."

As the walk back is accompanied by such a dour fellow, Richard simply keeps up the pace to return to the scribe's home.

Upstairs, with the two injured companions being treated, the young fighter listens to Ridik's raspy voice as the Goblin echo's his own concerns. He looks the little priest in the eye and nods his head slowly, sadly in agreement.
Since he's tried unsuccessfully to 'lead' once, Richard restrains himself from further efforts for now and hopes that things resolve themselves soon... as his belly gurgles a bit to lend emphasis to his impatience.

Ridik whispers to Richard.
ooc: I'm assuming you mean Lucien. :)

Lucien lays his hand on Ridik's shoulder. "Granted, we've not had much luck so far, but I must admit that my curiosity has been piqued regarding Grandmama and her manor. And if there are any more of those...abominations," here the half-elf looks at the piles of debris that used to be skeletons, "then I feel dutybound to eliminate them."

ao'Thuir has 48.6gp to pony up for the cleric to join them.

"Oh I agree, I wouldn't want to have this mission cost us money and pain." agrees ao'Thuir

Once they have returned to the shop, ao'Thuir will lead the cleric up to the room where Rinya and Gardener are. "If you could please heal our two friends, thank you."

Gardner Monroe, almost alert human investigator

Gardner groans slightly, rolling over on his side.

OOC: heading out for a trip from the 10th to the 19th. Computer access will be spotty. Looking forward to gaining consciousness. :D
