[D20 Future] Starship Rules

So how big is a command ship in Star Wars?
Depends on what you mean by a "Command Ship". Star Destroyers(Colassal by SWd20 rules) are 1,600m long.

Also, space combat for SW is done on a grid with each square equal to 500m. Works out just fine, but SWd20 is a very specific type of Scifi and I'm not sure mixing that with certain aspects of d20 Future is the best idea.

The one Darth Vader was on in the sixth movie when Luke arrived on the shuttle.

the grid is 500m? Ranger Reg said it was 200m????
REG said Star Trek, actually.

I believe you're talking about a Super Star Destroyer...according to Starships of the Galaxy, that monster is considered a Space Station for its size(8,000m long)

My Bad, I meant feet, but I have been working alot in metric recently, and brain just locked in.

The point being made was that a ships length is not an accurate measure of its size. Mass often works better but is biased against light alloy using cultures, area works, but is harder to calculate as is volume.

Answer, 'damned if I know' :)
Well, by "length," we should take the object's longest measurement. So in your case, if the ship's longest measurement (e.g., the sum of decks' height) is longer than 250 but less than 500 feet, then it fits in the light starship category.

opps! cardinal sin getting trek and wars mixed up :o
Forgiven.

As I said, I have been thinking of using a 200-meter scale for one-inch grids, but that would make a 5-km Borg Cube at least 25 inches across. A Galaxy-Class Heavy Explorer like Enterprise-E (780 meters) would only occupy 4 inches of squares in length. A Romulan Warbird (1,041 meters) would barely occupy 6 inches of squares in length.

Is there a sci-fi campaign setting that had its largest ships on 600m long?

So far we have borg cubes at 5km,

super star destroyer at 8km!

I am sure that there was a space station in Andromada that was 60km long.

I would like to apologies for making a broad brush statement about the designers of d20. I can see now after reading the announcement I should not have really brought them into it. :(
