Gallo, no worries man...sorry for seeming harsh! 'Twas unintended.

BruceB and Lizard--thanks for posting here. You're giving my GW thread some serious street cred!

Hey, if rule #1 isn't "Don't mess with John Drake", it sure ought to be.

Y'know, we actually talked at one point, some of the authors and me, about what the Village might be like in the Gamma Age.

Sounds like something that should be written up and placed on the S&S web site for all us GW'ers to enjoy. What do you say???

color me super psyched!

Just sent the following email to my players:

Subject: "Flights of Angels...", Gamma World intro session, October 24, 2003

From an interview with Cynthia Kenyon, a biology professor at UCSF studying how to extend lifespan, on NewScientist.com:

And when you look at the progress of science over the past 50 years - what we couldn't do 50 years ago that we can do now, for example with DNA - what will it be like 50 or 100 years from now? Wouldn't you love to see it?

It sounds just so wide-eyed-innocent, doesn't it? BwaHAhAhaHA! The intro session cometh. Over the course of this weekend and the upcoming week I plan on mailin' y'all the following:

(1) Kibitzed versions of your characters for final confirmation
(2) Clarified item wishlists (i.e., "clothing" will need to be broken down into "these shoes", "this shirt", and "some pants")
(3) Elucidating character background questions ("What would [you] do if confronted with [the following situation]?")
(4) Exciting (!) choose-your-own-adventure style what-happens-to-your-character-just-before-the-session-opens vignettes

Sorry, anyone actually reading what others write is insufficiently stubborn in gamer terms. :)

Ok... I officially "suck".... I couldn't afford it, but couldn't resist it... I bought the GW player's handbook here in Germany today... it cost me a hefty equivalent of 45 USD but I have hopes it will be worth it. At first glance it looks pretty cool, and as Lizard mentioned Badders, Hoops and others are definately in here. Also as someone mentioned the neon green pages at the beginning and end are a definate "stand up and say hello" :). I too am a GW player since the very first boxed set edition (I miss that Map!)... through to the 3rd edition, and had 4th edition but at a time when women, college and drinking were higher on my priority list.... (now only women and drinking are up there ;)). I'm a bit worried about this Nanotechnology rather than the nukes being the reason, but I do see that as a bringing GW into the world as it is, rather than the way it was at 1st edition. I can live with that, and if I don't like it nothing is stopping me from making my GW campaign nuke-fallout based :).

As for people's comments on the Plants... there are plenty of fans who are also designers who will probably create the rules if they are missing... does Darwin's World have 'em? If so, this is all D20 ;).

Hey Hellhound, you got your copy yet :D
