Yea. There's absolutely no reason for WotC to release a system that competes with the already-not-that-hotly-selling d20 Modern. I LIKE Alternity. I think it's a great system. I even think it got a bad shake through no fault of the mechanical "being".

I'm glad it has a dedicated and engaged fan base, though. Since I run the system from time to time, I'm glad to find support for it. I'm not an every-day player.

Though all this talk has me wishing I'd have decided to put together this sci-fi setting I'm working on in Alternity.

They won't re-release Alternity, but I'm hopeful they'll release d20 versions of the campaign settings that were originally developed under Alternity. If they'll put out Dark*Matter, maybe they'll put out Star*Drive as well. I would also appreciate making their science fiction system a little harder core -- Alternity dealt with planetology, had a system for rating the hazzards of environments and alien biochemistry -- i.e., science. Of course, that stuff has already been translated, but not officially.

I'm not sure how much I can say from NDAs, but let's say that 'my' part of the next installment has been completed for quite some time. Nobody is "at fault", so to speak, but various SNAFU-type situations have conspired to confound and hinder. Enochian Theurgy WILL come out, and to be honest I wouldn't bat a lash if the people involved told me it'd be hitting upload a week from now ... and I wouldn't bat a lash if it took a month.

Beyond Eno ... I'm planning to fight for at least one more. With a Dark*Matter book in the wind, confirmation of its reality might spur acceptance of another pitch of mine.

Heap is completely right here. His part is 100% finished - has been for quite some time. Its our fault that Enochian Theurgy hasn't seen the light of day yet - but it will, as soon as possible. We (at Sleep Dep Creations) know its a quality supplement (just like Diabolism was before it), and we want it out there for the gamers.

Please accept our apology for the (extreme) delay, and know that we are working as quickly as possible to see it released.

As far as future work from the esteemed Heap, I'm sure it's only a matter of time (and I'll personally keep hounding him until every last good idea is bled from his corpse - you have my word on that).

Indeed. Which two pages were less informative about the campaign setting than the one-page timeline from the original. And of the 179 creatures described in the original Star*Drive materials, 22 have d20 equivalents. Well, 8 if you don't count normal earth animals.
