Pips here. The numbers on a d6 are just too huge and ugly. Uniformed is fine, but ugly on my dice, never.
Agreed - it depends entirely on the game.Woas said:Other: Depends what game I'm playing.
That's funny, because I started playing RPGs by playing Traveller back in 1979. Since it used "regular" dice (as I thought of a d6 back then) I preferred to use dice I took from other games, which all had pips. Only recently, with the advent of certain dice sets, have I started to notice d6s with numbers. Can't stand them, actually. I have been given 2 dice sets, plus the dice from a 3.0 Basic set, and have set all the numbered d6s aside, never to be used. Well, never by me. Just don't like them.crazy_cat said:For D&D I like Pips, for Traveller I like numbers. For other games it will normally depend on what context I'm using them in.
For me, I could actually care less if my dice match. I should take a picture of my box o' dice. It's a handcrafted, carved box from Poland, velvet lined, and full of a big old mish-mash of dice. As long as I have enough dice to roll for things, I do not care what they look like. Well, except for my d6s, which have to have pips.Fifth Element said:I have a preference for numbers, though pips certainly don't bother me. It's an aesthetic thing, as mentioned above. I like my dice to match each other.
