Burned?...no. Glanced at askance?... well maybe. :) Dice rollers just seem so cold and impersonal. Actually, now that I think about it, pushing a button instead of rolling dice would actually remove an aspect of the game that I truly enjoy.

Do I get burned at the stake if I say that I not only don't care but prefer to use a dice roller instead of actual dice?

You kids and your new-fangled dice rollers. Bah! In my day we had to carve our dice out of wood because the dice in the OD&D white box were so cheap the edges would round off quite quickly. And we liked it!

Oh, I almost forgot. One guy did have a dice roller. He used that durn contraption from the Mousetrap game. Ya puts the dice in on the top, press some dohickey and out they come. And we liked it!

Why is there no "Who cares?" option?

I guess I prefer buying dice in sets, and I prefer when dice in a set use the same type of markings, so I technically prefer numbers - but not per se, only conditional on my other preferences.

I don't care whether I use dice with pips or numbers in a game with only d6s, for instance.

Ouch, that's close to home, I still carry mine... the 12-sider and 20-sider don't actually have anything resembling a "side" anymore, they just roll around the table till they fall off :)

edit: d6 still looks pretty good though, seeing as how I prefer pips and all...

Numbers, simply for aesthetic reasons. All my other dice sizes are numbered rather than pipped, so you get a uniform appearance if the d6's are numbered as well.
Indeedy-do... I have several matched sets of dice I like, and pips on the d6s would ruin the look.

Another vote for 'I don't care'. I even mix numbers and pips when I need a lot of dice for fireballs and such. (Mostly I use one or the other for a single die pool though.)
