Daelkyr 4th edition

Aberrant Earth(standard;encounter) Polymorph, Necrotic Zone
Area burst 4 within 10; the ground morphs into pulsing organic material, fleshy tentacles sprout and attempt to overwhelm target, +28 vs. Reflex; the target is restrained (save ends). Whenever a target enters or attempts a move action in the zone, it must make reflex save or be restrained. The zone is difficult terrain until the end of the encounter. Any creature that starts its turn in the zone takes 10 necrotic damage.

Let me know what you think LT. You inspired me for this ability.

I dont really see a precedent for that based on the Eberron Campaign setting. Granted I think it is interesting, but I try to base his abilites from previous versions.

Daelkyr have the ability to polymorph objects, and change stone to flesh. They do not alter themselves to much (seeking instead to alter natural eberron creatures. They use symbiotes instead to improve themselves.)

Daelkyr are master flesh-crafters, no? Mayhaps they have developed it to the point of being able to alter themselves with a thought?

Not that I don't like the idea, or see its origin-point now, 's just I'd've never come up with it myself.

I like the area-attack tentacle thing. Another idea is something that warps the flesh of those nearby.

Thanks,

Also a Daelkyr in Eberron can cast feeblemind(in 3.5 PHB). Basically the spell drops a creatures charisma and intell. to 1, makes him unable to understand languages, and his speech is incoherent, and other effects.

Perhaps he should have this ability, but I dont like all the text for describing its effect. It basically STUPIFIES the opponent. I looked in 4th PHB conditions, but conditions like stunned/dominated dont really sound like this.

I was thinking though of making a new condition, called stupified, so that way it can work with multiple new powers.

Condition = Stupified
-Your intelligence and Charisma are reduced to 1.
-You cannot use Int. and Cha. based powers.
-You can not communcate or understand communication from others.

For example:

Feeblemind(minor; recharge 4,5,6): (Charm) Close Burst 2; +32 vs Will, the target is stupified (save ends.)
