Damage Types: Developers read post 13

First Post
This was a while back, but I recall the DR of a Warforged stopping psychic and poison damage. That tidbit has been in the back of my mind and it led me down the road to: what damage types should exist?

Here is my list of damage types:
Trauma/internal/poison/starvation/thirst/energy drain --> (con damage)
Psychic/mental --> (lethal or non-lethal???)
Fire/heat/lightning/lava/radiation/sun/positive energy --> (lethal)
Cold/negative energy/void/outer space --> (lethal)
Physical/force/sonic/earth/acid/falling --> (lethal)
Stun/air/water/suffocation --> (non-lethal)

I would also include a burning condition. Use the burning condition to take care of all of the cases where damage will occur over and over- Acid, catch on fire, and possibly poison.
I would also define paralysis as dex 0 not frozen in space

Well, that is far too many :p

Limiting it to 6 damage types that captures all possibilities in them makes a lot more sense than what they have now imho.

Hmm, Psychic damage makes me suspect the Mind blast wil be damage dealing. As much as sitting there and sucking aspect of being mind blasted annoyed me, I DO hope the Mind Flayer has more durability in 4Esince his attack wont auto-negate his foes.

Many psionic powers from 3.5e like Mind Thrust, Psychic Crush and Ultrablast did psychic damage, except it was untyped damage from mind affecting powers.

Mind Thrust was a unique power in that it was save of suffer 1d10 per pp/level points of damage. I do wish their are spells based off of that in 4e to replace save or die spells.

I agree, I hope they remove all of the "stun" like effects and convert them into something else. I think they have mentioned that somewhere too. But what do you do with hold person... Make it dex damage! 2d6 dex damage.
