Dark Fairytale IC

"These are Old Gods...the ones we were thought don't exist and only deluded cults believe in them. What have we stumbled upon here?" Leonan muses as he sighs in relief as the statues are covered.
"Shavara, do you remember anything else about them? This here room obviously focuses their power somehow, we should break the runes after we look into this. And maybe destroy the statues too."

"Leonan has the gist of it right," Shavara says, wiping sweat from her brow. "These Old Ones causes right thinking minds to stop thinking rightly. This is probably why the dwarf was acting strangely. He probably wanted to warn us about the Old Ones but his mind was no longer his own." She looks at the rug, "Yes, we definitely will need to destroy the runes and those statues. They are dangerous to all thinking beings. Problem is, I don't think we should risk touching the statues. It also looks like the rumors about what lurks below the city might be true."

OOC: Arcana [roll0] for any additional information.

The Order had taught Kaleth much about the secret cults and ancient religions many lost to the dusts of time. The mystic thinks back to these studies trying to remember if his studies included anything similar to these statues.

OOC: Going to use Religion to see if I know anything about these Old Gods and history to see if I they are linked to some ancient civilization.

Historically not much is known about the old gods they seem to spring up out of no where and the vanish again every so often. The cults that worship them usually end up insane their hideouts are often filled with half eaten members and gibbering wrecks trying to claw their own eyes out.

Shildoor sighs "Alright then, as is our work. So lets get a Move on then." he makes his way into the room. "Let's start with getting rid of these!"
He pulls out his Flail and brings it Down on one of the statues.

OOC: Enough waiting ;) Time to Shake the hornets nest!

The statues shatter under the might of the goliath's swing, fortunately the rug contained most of the carnage, through a hole made in the rug a small rolled up sheet of paper can be seen. Pulling the rug back reveals two more identical rolls of paper all tied together with a red ribbon each.
