Dark Horse's Love Note to Star Wars: LEGACY

Inspired by the excellent The Force Awakens, I am launching off into Dark Horse's love note to Star Wars. Set 137 years after A New Hope, it's really the Dark Horse version of what the epic story from A Long Time Ago should be.

I own the entire epic in three hardbound books, each of 400+ pages. This is supposed to be one heck of story, and it's supposed to be one of Dark Horse's best selling Star Wars titles. And, of course, this monstrous tale has all the tons and tons of Star Wars Legends material to draw from.

The first story arc, Broken, starts with this title crawl....

Broken​

After the death of Emperor Palpatine, the defeated Imperial forces pulled back to Bastion, near the Unknown Regions, and called a truce with the New Republic. The Jedi, under Luke Skywalker, again became agents of peace across the galaxy.

That peace was shattered by an invasion of fanatical extragalactic aliens called the Yuuzhan Vong. These "Far Outsiders" killed trillions and devastated worlds, taking Coruscant itself and fracturing the New Republic. A Galactic Alliance of remaining systems, Jedi, an the Imperial Remnant finally defeated the invaders, exiling them to the living planet Zonama Sekot.

Meanwhile, a new breed of Sith--a legion led by Darth Krayt--kept patient watch. Emerging from hiding on the planet Korriban, the Sith formed an alliance with the newly reforged Empire. Together they manufactured an incident that sundered the Galactic Alliance and began a brutal war. The Jedi were defeated and scattered, but the name Skywalker is still a legacy of hope in a galaxy of darkness....

DARTH KRAYT

Ancient and deadly, Darth Krayt spent nearly a century secretly building a new Sith Order on Korriban. The Rule of Two is gone, banished by the new Sith leader. Now there is only the One--the Sith Order itself.

Known only to a few is the fact that Krayt was once known as A'Sharrad hett, a Jedi who had survived the Clone Wars and who had become embittered about the fate of the galaxy. Hett discovered--and learned from--an ancient Sith holocron on the planet Korriban; was captured, tortured, and transformed by the Yuuzhan Vong; and finally emerged as Darth Krayt. A combination of stasis chambers and Sith meditation has allowed him to artificially extend his life, but even Krayt cannot live forever.

Krayt seeks someone who can heal him of the Yuzhan Vong infection which is slowly overtaking his body. But thus far his efforts to rid himself of the Vong parasites have failed.

Darth Krayt's legion of Sith now outnumber the Jedi.
