Chick will carry a torch in one hand, his gyth'ka in another, and retrieve his net with another, leaving one hand free to scratch his thorax. He follows.
Kanna puts her chipped flint sword away and readies her staff instead. Every halfling knew that bone was hard to cut, but could be shattered with a sharp blow. She goes with the others, though the doubts press harder against her. Whatever secrets were hidden in a place like this might be better lost.
Heading to retrieve your axe you realize the skeletons are all congregating around it, they won't leave there spot but they aren't stupid either this reeks of magic. You can see them all clearly now all 10 of them, they hold a tight formation their bones clatter against each other as they shift their weight around the large group struggles to fit into the corridor.
Kimet scooped up her axe and slid it back into her belt. “Well, there’s more of them,” she said. “We doing this?” She glanced back at the others. “What’s behind that door that they’re guarding?” she wondered. “That is where the other group headed. I don’t see signs that they fought through the skeletons, though.”
The skeletons freeze at the sound of the words as if they struggle to fully understand them one by one they break ranks and stand aside there movements seem forced almost as if they are struggling against some Unseen force.
GM:
Some good thinking! Can't promise it'll work again.
Expect another update in a few hours I'm working hard.
Tarsin turns to Kanna and says in halfling, "Very clever, little one! I know you were reluctant to come on this expedition, but not for the first time I am glad you're with us."
In common he says to everyone, "We have our receiving line, let us proceed!"
Kimet stared at the skeletons as they stood aside, and then at the halfling that had commanded them in some strange language. “What the burning sands did you just do?” she asked.
Tarsin was already leading them through the path created the by the skeletons, so Kimet shouldered her maul and followed, keeping a wary eye on the bony defenders.
The corridor ends some 15ft later in a large door, the skeletons resume their original stance.
The door is larger than the others you have encountered with a set of two winch mechanisms. On the door itself is a set of faded carvings depicting two people using the winches while a third enters the door.
