Darts, shuriken & Xbow bolts: reason vs RAW

Hairfoot

First Post
One of my players is running a thrown weapon specialist (halfling monk/rogue) and wants to use darts, shuriken, and medium-size crossbow bolts as, essentially, the same weapon.

All it really means is that he can use all these weapons with a flurry of blows. It seems okay to me, except for the bolts, which I don't think would have the weight or aerodynamics of a proper shuriken or dart.

Am I overlooking any potential RAW abuses if I allow this?

I can't think of any particular abuses this would bring about. What I would do is use the clause about bolts as melee weapons; since he's technically throwing them, that wouldn't (by the strictest reading) count, but I'd use that note anyway for thrown bolts.

Bolts
A crossbow bolt used as a melee weapon is treated as a light improvised weapon (-4 penalty on attack rolls) and deals damage as a dagger of its size (crit ×2).

None that I can see. Remember to adjust the max range of the X-bow bolt to 5 increments, which could represent that lack of mass/aerodynamics you mentioned earlier.
