Daunton's Dead Shadow (DM:Ukingsken, Judge:????)

[sblock=ooc]

How is the gate fastened and does either of the guards seem to be carrying an obvious key (and if so, how securely is it attached to them)?

Grakk, fed up with the waiting and diplomatic approach to gaining access to the estate, eyes the gate for a point of weakness.

Y'know, in case it matters.

Where's Vixo during all this? I seem to remember someone suggesting that he climb the wall himself rather than stay with the others. Is that happening, or is he with everyone else?

[sblock=ooc]Vixo is with the others, standing quietly behind Grakk as to remain unnoticed or ignored.[/sblock]

Kamotz gets in conspiratorial range of the bars, and leans in to speak with the guard. Sir, orders are orders, and if you don't allow us bodyguards in, the master is going to devour our everlasting soul. Kamotz glances over his shoulder at Morvannon and Magnus, then pleadingly back at the guard.

The guard snorts derisively, shooting a knowing glance to his fellow, who snickers quietly. He looks back at Kamotz with a look that is half disinterest, half suspicion. "Your soul ain't my concern. Beat it, Fluffy." He looks over at Morvannon. "Are you coming, or should I pass along your apologies to the House?"

Magnus and Grakk take a closer look at the gate. It consists of two sturdy wrought-iron half-doors, securely bolted to the stone walls and hinged to swing into the complex. Where the doors meet is a square iron lock with a keyhole. Below the lock, each door is braced by an iron post that goes down into a hole in the ground. To open the door, you would have to pull the post out of the ground and hold it up while swinging the gate open; and that after unlocking it.

There are no obvious keys on either guard's person, but logic would dictate that a key must be nearby somewhere, if not hidden on the guard's person.

Kamotz looks too Morvannon, trying to think of ways to help, the expression of confusion plain on his face.

What can Kamotz assist you with?

Morvannon looks over the guards, then back to his companions. "I will come," he says. "Your master and I will have words." He stands back from the gate, waiting for the guards to open it.

[sblock=OOC]I think Grakk has the best plan at this point.[/sblock]

Kamotz steps back five feet, keeping his legs bent in springing position. *Fluffy... Morvannon isn't... He was talking about me... He called me Fluffy! *

The epiphany couldn't have come at a worse time...

[sblock=OOC]

Kamotz readies an action to charge the smart-mouth guard upon the gates opening.
