"It is a little strange there are so many skeletons, isn't it?" Alecto asks as they come to the old boat. "Surely they weren't simply waiting here for us to arrive until they died." It paused, then looked at Facet querrelously. "Were they?"

"Organics don't wait. They have fuel and rest needs we don't, and they cannot ignore them unless constrained... Were they destroyed by the crystal warforged we saw? Did it roam outside the confines of the building we were investigating? If it is not here now, perhaps they fell afoul of it." Facet's hand stills as she goes to pick Trundle up to help him over the lip of the boat. "Maybe it still lingers." She looks around uncertainly.

"Perhaps the crystal golem was deactivated by the attacking humans, same as us," Glitch muses. "Although I don't see any visible remains. And the skeletons here were probably attacked as well. Perhaps it would be best not to linger in this place."

The building you're in is overgrown by bushes and gnarles trees, giving it the appearance of a cave. The inside has flooded several times and is covered in muck. Besides the two skeletons you've already seen there is little of intrinsic interest visible, but who knows what the muck hides. The architecture is unfamiliar to you (OOC : roll a knowledge skill if you think you have a relevant knowledge). The building is fairly small, composed of two rooms, the first one larger, empty, the second one smaller. It has a stone table/altar/pedestal in the center? It is plain, no obvious carvings or lettering. There are geometric, abstract decorations lining the walls, doorways and ceiling.

The building is one of thirteen, all spaced around a main square. where the khalashtar arrived. There the ruins of an arch still stand tall. All thirteen mounds or houses are open, all in virtually the same state, except that they don't contain any more disabled warforged.

Nameless will take some time to investigate the ruins, particularly the decorations, to see if they might reveal something about the purpose of this place, or what happened here. He pesters the others with questions, or drags them off to look at something if required.

Meanwhile, he suggests those not engaged in investigating the ruins should conduct a sweep of the surrounding area, incase there are any outlying buildings, or bodies, or whatever.

Alecto assists as well as it can with the investigations, though its skillset is largely physical. Still, it's always happy to bash down a door that can't be unlocked, or climb up through a window or assist in other ways...and as long as the more knowledgeable people in the team don't mind putting up with an ever-increasing amount of questions as Alecto's curiosity about the ruins and other topics revs up to speed.

Facet will join Alecto in examining the ruins more closely with the Nameless One. She cannot bring herself to trust him fully - he showed up from an unknown place full of tales of ended wars and free warforged, and who knew how much of that was true. She wouldn't let this place, where they had had their last mission, be examined solely by this stranger.

Evening falls, and the odd thing that is called sleep sings its siren's song to the two kalashtar. One of them tries to remain awake while the other sleeps. The Orc guide seems nervous or is naturally paranoid, and makes frequent tours on his own. When offered company he either grunts or laugs and simply states "Noise".

It is around midnight when he stumbles in through the doorway, coughing up copious amounts of blood. He's pierced by two arrows, and stumbles in, clearly use-ing the last reserves of his strength.

"They Come" he says, and falls down.

[ooc : Rotitash is asleep. Valharath must make a con save at +10 to act this turn.
Facet and nameless are tinkering with the two warforged that have the lowest initiative score when it's rolled. Everyone save the sleeping khalashtar has one rond to prepare. The warforged have all gained 25 HP, Facet is dow to half his infusions allowed. Everyone is located at the innermost chamber where a small fire is burinf to ptovide warmth and some light. It is made so that it isn't visible from outside.
Roll initiative. Any further questions in the OOC thread plese.]

Nameless, Warforged Psychic Warrior 5 [7/10pp]

Warforged looks up from his work as Grimjaw staggers into the chamber, makes his pronouncement and collapses.

"Looks like we are done for now," he says, giving the other warforged a punch on shoulder. "Time to move."

Scooping up his bow, he nocks an arrow, stepping away from the fire toward one of the side walls.

Facet jumps when the orc stumbles in, and looks down at him with fascination. He bleeds red in the firelight. So strange. Then she kneels over him, uncertain what to do. She has a single tattoo that can reform the flesh and heal wounds, but it is only one, and it was meant to be used on Cannith house members only. And her repair duties still aren't done. She instead calls out, low and urgent. "Who can heal organics? I know little about organic repair!"

She is very sorry about the fact that swamp destroyed her morningstar and crossbow, but a warforged is never unarmed. And an artificer always has more than one trick. They had to move, but that did not mean they had to move without protection. She puts her hand on Alecto, and pushes, brief runes swirling over his body before reinforcing his plates and joints. With a mental command to Trundle, both are now ready to move.

Glowing runes ripple along Alecto's smooth, silvery skin, momentarily opalescent in the firelight, then vanishing again.

The warforged stands up from where it had been letting Facet work her repairs and the trademark shivering blade of light coaleces from its forearm.

"Ready," it reported.
