Dawnforge Characters

That's pretty much the reaction I had to the book; I pick it up and it's the only book that I've skimmed that I went "I. Must. Have it. ImustImustImust!" because somehow with each page I turned it just got cooler and cooler!
... and my reaction was much the same. I hope it's as big a success for FFG as Midnight was (and hopefully still is!).

Yeah; I need to see people still coming on and talking about how cool Dawnforge is in a year.

Personally, I think you will see Dawnforge around in a year's time...

IMO Dawnforge has the ability to see extended use in a campaign because it can be 'tailored' in so many ways. After having read more about the setting, races, etc. I am truly impressed by the way this world has been put together.

Normally, I'm one of those 'stick with the standard stuff' kind of guys and admittedly, I was a bit skeptical about seeing minotaurs, ogres, yuan-ti, etc. listed as races. However, my initial skepticism has been put to rest and even these 'non-standard' things have been well-developed and 'fit' in the world as a whole.

At any rate, my 2 cents on Dawnforge...okay, maybe that was 3! :D

Now it's time to buy the 3.5 PHB...

(snip) (I'm considering, after this campaign, changing the world, fast forwarding a thousand years or so, and running Dawnforge 2000, with the events of this campaign affecting the course of the world).

One of the ways I'm trying to "sell" this setting to my players is that we will run a second campaign set about 1,000 years after the first and second campaign will draw heavily on the consequences of their actions in the first. I am really hoping that they take the bait and then at least one becomes an immortal and the rest do something of legendary significance for their nation and/or race.

I should also mention that I want to use a Midnight campaign as a forerunner to Dawnforge where the Midnight campaign ends in a similar manner to the tales of Elric: total destruction followed by a new creation but the PCs whose actions caused this become the first immortals of Dawnforge.

Hmmm, perhaps I am thinking a bit too Eternal Champion-like? ;)

Cheers

I hope I am coming on and talking about how cool my Dawnforge campaign *still* is in a year. It has been a while since I have run a long term campaign and I think Dawnforge is the setting in which to do it.
