DDM: Anyone get mini's for Christmas?

My mother always gets me the wrong thing unless I'm very specific, which sort of ruins the surprise... so I told her to get me some mini's. They're random, still a surprise, and she can't mess it up too badly.

I got a Balor! So I'm happy. Second pack's Rare was a Dromite Wilder... cool enough for... it's not a Balor!
Another Half orc paladin, but they're neat, as are the duplicate nentyar, halfling sneak and royal guard.
Ankheg is neat enough, but really, Dire Bat? I'm sure it'll have it's fans, but what a waste of plastic!

(also spider swarm, again... sigh)
I got a duplicate spirit folk and wizard tactician, this spirit folk looks nicer than the first one I had. Dark Creepers are blah!

Troglodyte, gold dwarf soldier, lolths sting cool, orc skeleton not...

But, I got a Balor!

My wife did not think to give me anything gaming related, although my friends around the gaming table all exchanged things like mini's, tact-tiles, and other assorted fun stuff. I feel like I did well.

I didn't get any but I did get my son some from e-bay and the large box set from a while ago. So now all I hear about is HIS Black Dragon.

I was actually surprised because I thought every pack had an Epic in it, but apparently only 1 in 4 has an epic. Out of 4 packs, I've got 3 epics, so I've done great with Underdark. I thought the last pack was in error, until I figured out the Dromite was a rare.

Yes, but not a WotC mini. I'm the only player in my group who uses them. Two of the others are professional modelers, and they play with wife and son, so that makes four pro-painted minis at the table, then my WotC fig. So they chipped in, one bought a mini, and the other painted it.

And it is EXCEPTIONAL!!

Yes! ...well, sort of, it came in the mail 2 weeks ago...and I bought them myself...but it was my Chirstmas present to me! (well, that and my Sirius radio).

That balor is way cool, eh? But then, I already have an awesome metal balor, all painted up nice and purty. And I'll likely never use either for D&D, as I hate running games of a level where the party would last longer than a round against one, let alone two. But cool, nonetheless. Guess I should finally take up the mini game after a couple years of collecting these things...kinda wish I'd gotten a dragon in this case. Deep or silver, I'm not picky.

Got $$ for birthday & X-Mas, so grabbed a couple of Underdark packs & 1 Armor Wars pack. Got Titanium Man, Magma, and a couple fo others in the Armor Wars.

Got a Balor in 1 of the Underdark packs. Got an Elminster in the other. Actually gave away the Elminster to a friend (as an X-Mas present, since I'm rather broke), along with another meager gift; but then again, he's been really hoping to get an Elminster from this set.
