I liked Chainmail, and DDM is pretty similar...as is Confrontation.
However, I rarely find players for any of the above.
So my main use for the minis is for D&D games.
And for the record, I have a great grey army of lead and pewter minis dating back to 1977- Heritage, Grenadier, Ral Partha, Heartbreaker, Reaper, Rackham, WotC and many more rest in my little Chessex boxes. I must own somewhere around 3000+ metal minis. I don't have quite that many plasticrack ones- only a few hundred- and they cover not only DDM, but Heroclix (DC, Marvel, MechWarrior, Halo, etc.) as well.
The plastic ones I value the most highly are ones that model things that don't usually get sculpted (like the Bulette and the Remorhaz- I wish I had that last one, FWIW) and the ones that metal minis don't do well, like invisible or flying beings, ones with active spells, or beings with transparent parts of some kind.
