Despite thier appearance the Aslan have no ties or relations to the Terran Lion. The Aslan are not an uplifted race as the Vargr are. The ancients had nothing to do with the Aslan. (At least nothing that has been printed.) I agree with the statement that the Aslan are probably an nod to Larry Nivin's Kzin.

I don't have strong feelings either way on this one. I'll agree with those who say that the fan is more annoying than the subject of fandom, though.

I'll also add the Khajiit from Morrowind.

They actually date back to the 1e fiend folio (and might have appeared in an issue of White Dwarf before that, but of that I am not certain.)
