Decent Wednesday night programming?

Please expound on the details. I've no interest in watching, but I gotta hear what makes it a train wreck.

I'll assume that you've never watched The Apprentice (Trump version) for the purposes of this post.

Basically, there are 16 decent to good looking contestants with varied levels of business expertise brought to live in NY where Martha Stewart Living is produced. Martha's company is, of course, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and the name is bandied about quite often. The clunky name is hilarious to me. Being a manager, I'm somewhat interested in successful people and the original Apprentice had/has a certain realism and edge to it - it's not a great show but it does the job of being entertaining and focusing more on results than personality polls or physical prowess. Basically, the winner at the end I've always felt *could* work for Trump.

The contrast with Stewart's version? I just don't care and it seems kinda pansy. I understand that the woman is very successful and she made herself that way but focusing on tasks like creating a children's book and running a flower shop aren't my thing. Yes, the contestants take it all seriously and there are big "moments" in the show but producing this show without a strong presence like Trump in the driver's seat is just horrible. The tension is barely there and they use all the same music from the original. I guess it just seems like a watered-down, nicer version of The Apprentice - which wasn't exactly hard-hitting to begin with.

Add to it that Stewart comes off as really fake almost the entire time and it equals something so bad that I can't look away.

They replay Weeds on Showtime on Wednesdays. I think that show is really funny. I actually haven't looked too closely at the TV sched yet because I'm watching baseball pretty much every evening.

I'll second Veronica Mars. Flat-out good show. Strong characters, writing and overall presentation.

Ghosthunters in on Sci-Fi at 9pm. It's one of the few shows I look forward to each week.

Law & Order - 10:00, NBC. still one of the best shows out there: solid acting, good writing and intelligent takes on important issues.

also, Weeds, if you have Showtime. Funny, funny, funny - and yet it can be some powerful damn drama, too. hands down the best soundtrack on TV.
