Might also check out Good Eats on the Food Network.

I've tried several of Alton' Brown's Recipies & all of them have worked great.

Plus, the show is as much food & scientific fact as cooking recipies.

I highly recommend it.

I think Duck Dodgers might be on Boom! on Wednesdays as well. (Daffy Duck as Duck Dodgers vs Marvin the Martian. Lots of Sci-fi jokes.

Discovery channel: Top Gear- this is all about fast or cool or odd cars. and sometimes the cool things brits choose to do with them to make the audience go wow!! You must be nuts.
I'll second this show. It is just pure fun to watch these guys live out every kids fantasy and drive exotic cars and just have fun with them.

Everyone around these parts watches... Veronics Mars. Of course, after some time with VM, you may never watch Smallville again. You can also try Invasion if you want to get into something from the beginning.

No, some of us don't! (Personally, I hate "tough guy" girls). YMMV. I watch Invasion.

I absolutely love that show.
My wife and I have only tried two of his recipes (both worked well),
but the show itself is very entertaining. You pegged it perfectly with the 1/2 food 1/2 science.
