Given what I understand of the CoCd20 legal situation I would be very suprised if such was the case. I imagine it will instead be built on the SRD, rather than the Modern SRD, and have appropriate classes and such - a completly stand alone game. I would be pleasantly suprised, however, if it was built on d20 Modern. It just seems unlikely.

Judging from the preview, it's going to be CoC d20. Remember, this book has been in the pipeline for years - before CoC d20 went OOP. After all this time I really can't see Pagan re-doing the d20 portion in a different ruleset just because CoC d20 went out of print.

Yeah, you are right. I should have thought of that, the veritable antiquity of the work does mean that CoC d20 makes sense. If I buy it though, I will probablly convert it to d20 M.

"9th level defence option" is a dead give away.

There are a lot of copies of D20 CoC floating around...I also don't know how hard it would be to convert. The sanity rules are basically reprinted in UA, a lot of the rest is close to D&D, I guess you might be missing some spells or creatures--though those might be written up in the new book. And of course, there is the helpfull EnWorld community...

But we will see!

Just for the premise of the setting, I'll likely end up using D20 Modern (with sanity rules from CoC D20) for DG. However, I'll try it out as written first. That is if it ever actually sees the light of day! :p

It will be dual-statted for CoCd20 and BRP. Keep in mind that this book has been written and awaiting print for awhile, and the primary markets are:

* the many people who already bought the print run of CoC d20, and
* those BRP fans who want the long-out-of-print DG, didn't buy it when it was still in print, but don't want to pay $80 on eBay for it.

Players of non-CoC flavours of d20 are not a primary market for this book, except insofar as they're willing to adapt the CoCd20 writeups (which in most cases, isn't really hard anyways). Gamers looking for a self-contained new game are likewise not a primary market for this book. Keep in mind that it is and has always been a sourcebook for an existing game, not a new game in its own right; and the vast majority of the book is non-mechanical fluff, so system isn't really an issue.

Of course, it's all irrelevant to me anyways -- I own both DG and DG:Countdown, as well as all of the DG fiction, and it's some of the greatest RPG writing ever. I don't know that I necessarily want to shell out more money just to get the paltry amount of conversion material that will be added, for a system I own and like but don't play*. Now, if the DG reprint sells enough copies that Arc Dream will finally publish the DG chapbooks (the only DG material I don't own) in compiled form, then I'll be a happy camper. So to those of you who don't already own DG but have an interest in the material, I say buy it!

* If I were to play DG, I'd either run straight BRP or more likely, use Spycraft 2.0 and pinch the necessary bits from CoCd20 like magic, artifacts and psychic powers.

Good points. The chapbooks are indeed very, very cool. So, anyting that keeps those in print should be encouraged as well.

Ill be buying it just to support Delta Green. I also already own DG and Countdown, but anything DG related I'll buy almost compulsively :) Ahhh, I miss the DGML. Now if Cthulhutech would just come out... But I dont need that I guess, I had already planned on doing a D20 Future Mecha Crusade/CoC Delta Green mix'emup game ever since Erik Mona hinted about something mecha related coming out in Polyhedron a few years back, that turned out to be MC.

Oh, and it IS going to be dual statted BRP and D20. But I just want it for Hardback, my DG book is falling apart (Im hard on books)
