Personally, I'd say play a succubus posing as a human...bard

Well, you can't really be a Succubus, seeing as they're demons. However, who has a vested interest in the demons NOT winning... why, the devils of course. So play an Erinyes :)

Solid Snake - What's the concept you are going after?

Gaiden- I am really after a holy knight who is going to really bring the fight directly to his demon foes. I think I am almost certain I am going to shoot for Paladin 8/Knight of the Chalice 2. Although, I am open to some levels of ranger so that my bonuses against demons goes up...I just want to meet the prereqs for Knight of the Chalice.

I need the 2 levels so I can get Censure Demon...the problem is that the DC is 10+Knight of the Chalice CLASS level + Cha bonus. Demons do have fairly good will saves, so this is kinda of rough in terms of its effectiveness. Any ideas on how to improve this?

Here are my ability score rolls: 17, 16, 8, 11, 15, 11

Any suggestions on feat choices? I figured on just taking the charging chain (Mounted Combat, Spirited Charge...etc) b/c the Paladin levels gives me a mount. Maybe I'll pick up power attack as the guy carries a greatsword...

If you're going the charging route, definitely pick up Power Attack. The bonuses on a spirited charge really stack up with PA, and it's also a prerequisite for Divine Might, which might be a useful choice at 12th lvl.

So they switched it from 3.0 then.

I'd say stick with the censuring from DotF which functions like turning.

You might want to pick up at least one level of ranger to get the favored enemy so you can get nemesis from BoED (automatic detection of favored enemy even through walls to 60' +1c6 dmg against all evil enemies of favored type - so all :)).

Taking a ranger level or two would also facilutate taking the fight to the demons so to speak - you could track them :).

Sounds like a fun campaign!

Can't recall knight of the chalice off the top of my head.... what do you need to qualify for it?

In the meantime...

Mounted combat mess:

Ranger 10. Warhorse as your animal companion... it'll be tougher than a normal horse... if it dies you can always get another one. :)

Feats: Mounted combat, Ride by, Spirited charge, Improved Shield Bash, A.N.Other.

The +6 vs evil outsiders is just going to be nasty. Use sword + shield 2 weapon style on foot - +6 damage on each and a good AC. Lance when mounted - the Favoured enemy bonus damage will be +18 with it. Youchie!

If you make A.N.Other = Weapon Focus: Lance then you'd qualify for the Cavalier PrC... which just get's nasty.

Left to me - I'd go for Mr ZapZap - the overchanneling Kineticisit.

Terrifyingly enough, I had this exact same idea. So my total feat count is going to be 5 I think. With Nemesis and the Mounted Combat Feats, I think I will be utterly depleted. Too bad, I really wanted that Exalted feat that gave me an additional +3 vs. favored enemies...

SSnake:

If you do get a level or so of ranger and Nemesis, then remember that feats like Favored Power Attack and Improved Favored Enemy apply.

That can get pretty scary -- those are good feats and rarely used.

Here is the final look:

Ranger 3/Paladin 4/Fighter 1/Knight of the Chalice 2

I took the combo to get some baseline paladin abilities (I also had to be able to cast 1st level spells to get the prereqs for KoC), the favored enemy from ranger and an extra feat from fighter. So the total number of available feats comes to: 6 (bonuses for being a fighter and human).

I decided to definately go with:

Nemesis
Improved Favored Enemy
Improved Toughness (part of the story)

I'm thinking about the following for my other 3:

Divine Might
Quickdraw
Iron Will (multiclassing has killed my will save)
Improved Initiative
Close quarters fighting (could be nice...)
Power attack
