Demonomicon/Fraz-Urb'luu article question

And wasn't the Abyss covered in Planes of Chaos?

late response, but because i've been studying the subject lately...

there weren't many abyssal lords mentioned in PoC. mainly just Graz'zt and Pazreal (Pazuzu) and a few mentions of the major ones here and there. early Planescape tended to downplay creatures like abyssal lords, the lords of the nine, slaad lords, archdaemons, and what we now call celestial paragons, and most such creatures were not statted in the planescape line. this started to change over time, but then the series was cancelled. :(

Though admittedly, the 1e sources didn't have a ton of information on them IIRC either, just the basics of what they looked like and some brief personality stuff. Pazuzu and Grazzt got seriously pimped in PoC, and some additional material on some other lords that just barely had any detail previous to that point. The later PS stuff went much more in depth in Faces of Evil (though with some of the lesser ones there, plus the in character author of the section, Xanxost, got tired of writing about Abyssal Lords and moved on to other things *chuckle*), 'Hellbound' had more detail on three specific ones, and Orcus was dead for most of 2e before 'Dead Gods' so he got skimped on details obviously.

And lack of stats isn't always a bad thing, some of us prefer that *grin*

And Mr Mona, I eagerly await some feedback on those demonomicon article ideas I pitched that you guys asked for more detail on.

I've seen this "Demonomicon" mentioned in a coule of posts lately. Is this a new feature in Dragon magazine or something? Is it just a stat write-up or does it contain a fair amount of background information and such?

The Demonomicon articles feature one demon lord, having stats for him, his aspect, a servitor demon, a prestige class based around his worship, and several pages on his goals, servitors, cults, history (both in D&D and in the real world) and home plane. They are easily the best feature to hit Dragon Magazine in a very long time.

Demiurge out.

Yes, it's a Dragon feature. Usually, it covers a complete writeup, background information and history, a look at primary worshipers and/or some sample NPCs/monsters and a look at the realm.

[edit]Beaten by demiurge. But I shall have my revenge! *plots*
