Deployed Military D&D Game Day! (needs you!)

Shane,
Will do, just as soon as I set up a dedicated email--probably after work this evening. I won't have my in-country contact info until the end of the month.

When Ziggurat Con (Gamegrene coverage, Wikipedia entry) was held June 9 2007 at Camp Adder/Tallil Airbase, a lot of us "stateside" gamers donated books, dice, and miniatures to show support for gamers in uniform.

If you could provide an APO shipping address where donations can be sent, I'm sure many gamers will gladly donate gaming materials to distribute at your various event locations for this years D&D Game Day.

This is perfect. I just decided this week that I'd like to donate my 3.5 book collection to our active duty troops, but didn't know where to send them. I'd love an APO address to send my donation. Thanks.

I'm not currently deployed, and I don't expect to be then (wouldn't that be a hoot to find out this late ... not!), but best of luck with the game day, and certainly post any help you require.

For 4E stuff you can use easily ... how about unlimited free copies of a 4E adventure? ;) If we can just get a volunteer to pdf it and add some artwork and the improved maps ...

Absolutely. My gal and I have done this in the past - mostly shipping DVDs and things of that nature - and we would be more than happy to contribute along these lines. Dice, minis, game books, anything appropriate and useful.

Hey yo,
I'd like to throw my hat in the proverbial ring in terms of volunteering for website services.
I have a ton of web space, and I am technically professional a web developer. I'd be more than happy to purchase a bad ass new domain name for the troops and whatnot. I've got some time on my hands coming up this weekend. I could get something very basic up sooner than that(VERY BASIC). But emails could be set up and whatnot, I think.

I'll be checking back here regularly, so let me know.

Thanks everyone!

I will provide an APO address in a couple weeks (probably the first week of May.) Donations would be greatly appreciated.

Xfer83: thanks for volunteering your web services. I figured I'd give a go at a myspace page, but a proper page would be much better.
My hack at a domain name: militarygameday.com. I would like it to be easy to say, easy to hear, easy to type in. Other options: deployedgameday, deployeddnd (kind odd to type), whatever you think would work along those lines.

More in the am... I've been working late this week.

Im at Ali Al Salim right now and this sound great, but I didnt bring any of my supplies and the BX here dosent have enough to even attempt to run a game. It sounds great and I would love to try and do it, but It may very well be out of my reach to be able to accomplish.

I am at Camp Bucca Iraq. Myself and the group I am DMing for go home next month, but there are other gamers here that we have met and will be here for awhile longer. I will be sure to pass the word.
