Detecting Evil inside an Anti Magic Field

Saladrex

First Post
Suppose we have an evil Wizard/Rogue casting Anti Magic Field on himself and then hiding.

A Paladin comes then, and uses Detect Evil on the area the evil Wizard/Rogue is hiding with his AMF.

Will the paladin be able to detect the evil wizard/rogue?

The two possible options I see are:
- No, because the area of effect of the detect evil ends where the AMF starts
- Yes, because Detect Evil is a divination spell, and reveals information about something that is evil (and the AMF does not supress 'evil' or 'good', only magic.)

Thanks.

Nope - paladin's ability to see the evil inside the AMF is supressed.

now - if you were using Detect Magic, you could see the AMF itself - but not any magic within.

Sorry, but how will you detect magic when there isn't any? I mean, detecting magic on an AMF is for me the same as seeing light in total darkness.

Magus is just part of the background noise. Ignore him and he'll go away. ;)
