dex fighter?

Actually the new Ranged Warlord covers Odysseus quite well (you needed to be really strong to draw his bow).
Ah good point!!!
I think Warlord is becoming my favorite class of all time actually. Need Odysseus (with the bow emphasis include) heres your man. Need a fine Aragorn multiclass with ranger and it really fits. Need a non-combatant princess hero grab a warlord with the right power selections (no strength required). Need somebody who is ranged and hides behind his allies when in close (like a perceptive guiding librarian wizard/warlock) you can do that with a hybrid warlord. Need a noble hobbit who isnt all that roguish yup a dash of warlord will do ;p

I've always enjoyed Dex-based fighters since 2e. I have made the same character in 4e with Str as Primary and Dex as secondary. Frankly I hate the fact that fighter abilities are tied to strength so much but I love all of their stances and moves so I stuck with the fighter. So now my fighter is 8th level and he has a 20 Str and 18 Dex. I'm too used to previous editions where a 20 Strength was like Conan or Caramon. I just tell people that my character isn't strong, he's wirey.

I have a really hard time with Female fighers with a high Str. I have one that has a 19 now. She's like 5'5". The best thing I can tell you is to don't let the mechanics ruin your character idea. Just use Strength to demonstrate Fighter ability and not really brute Strength. Like everything else in 4e, realism doesn't matter as much as mechanics. Much to my chagrin.

If you really have a thing for Dex and don't want to be a Sneak Attack focused Rogue, I would suggest the Monk with a martial weapon. Yeah the damage of the blade doesn't matter since all monk powers are Implement but you get to move all around the field and do lots of damage and you do it with style. That's a Dex based Warrior as you can get. (You would have to get the weapon and armor proficiencies.)

Note the duelist build rogue isnt in the slightest focused on sneaking for combative ability. That is to say CA ie combat advantage is not central to the character.
