Diablo 3 - What's Going On?

You do get a line of "defensive" abilities. Some of them are movement abilities, like the Demon Hunter has a move where she cartwheels away. So I suppose you could use those and just run away.

Not really sure what else there will be.

Cartwheels away? Really? That's an awesome way of leaving a scene.

"Nothing to do here, gentlemen" *cartwheels away*

I ran it on a crappy PC with poor connection. It was bad for me, but it looked ok and was very reminiscent of the other games, which is good if you liked them, bad if you weren't a fan or were looking for more. I played a monk and the archer (Demon hunter?) for a bit.

There may not be scrolls of town portal....but I used that ability several times during the beta.

It seemed to work just like the scrolls did. Not sure about how often I could use it or how to regain the ability. I failed to take notice of those details.
you may have missed the several-seconds delay when opening a town portal. They're useless for making a quick escape.

LightPhoenix has it exactly right: Every class gets its own 'panic button' skill to make a quick escape, and the most dangerous situations seem to come up when you're flooded by monsters, so the best skills are the ones with some AoE.

I particularly enjoyed skills with rune effects that have a chance to trigger secondary explosions of some kind.

I was also quite surprised by my preferences regarding the character classes: Witch Doctor is ridiculously cool, Demon Hunter my second favorite. Wizard is rather lame and Barbarian only a bit better. Monk's firmly in the middle.
Obviously, I prefer a kind of relaxed gameplay, i.e. killing stuff from afar; melee classes have a tendency to be more stressing (which might cause more action-oriented players to prefer them to ranged classes).

Of course the Beta was very, very easy and rather short (only part of Act1, max level 13), so my preferences may well change. But I'm going to play every class to level 60 anyway...

I'm definitely looking forward to it and I'm glad my ancient hardware is sufficient to play.

Well, who cares? (btw., subtracting 15% twice does not equal 30%, but that's besides the point)

It's not as if there was any reason or requirement to actually use it. I've been playing Diablo2 over the Battle-Net for, what?, 10 years, and never felt it was necessary to buy an item. I don't expect this to change with Diablo3.

Something else I didn't mention in my previous post:
I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have any problems with the requirement to be online the whole time although my Internet connection really sucks at times.

The only thing I'm unsure about is if there's sufficient incentive to continue playing once all of my characters have reached level 60. Then again it's hundreds of hours of playtime until I reach that point, so it's money well spent in any case.

Funny thing, taste. I love the Monk and Wizard (hated the D2 Sorceress). The Witch Doctor annoyed me. And, as much as I wanted to love it, the Demon Hunter felt so painfully weak, to me. The Barbarian was okay, but I like the Monk enough better that I went with that for a melee character.

What is the best site for Diablo 3 info?

Everything I've stumbled upon was built before the release and hasn't been noticeably updated since. :erm:
