I tend to leave my dice with the highest number face up. I also like to have complete sets, and will retire a set if I happen to lose a die.
But, I'm also the "curse-breaker". We had a guy who would roll just fine with his old dice. But, if he rolled someone else's, that person's dice would roll bad for a long time afterwards. However, he was never able to "curse" my dice. So, if he "cursed" someone else's, they were handed to me for me to roll. I would almost always roll the highest number on the next roll of the affected die.
