"You bow to nobody."

Anytime theres some heavy sentimental dialog or a deep moment between guys (father & son or friends) the flood gates begin to open. DAYM YOU PJ!! :D

That line torn me up. The only other time I can remeber crying during a film was at the end of "It's a Wonderful Life".

If i'd let myself I could have broken down entirely from somewhere around the slaying of the witch king onwards.
One of my big moments...which wasnt in the book and which I havent heard anyone else mention...was when Frodo collapses and has a vision of Galadriel coming to him and re iterating the "if you cant find a way, no one can" line, and then reaching down and picking him up...I pretty much lost it of course thats mainly because Galadriel is a very very special character to me. Whenever life makes me feel like my head is about to pop, i read her parts in Fellowship and it usualy does the trick...so that scene looked to me very much as though they'd pulled it out of my own head.
From the Frodo waking up and seeing Gandalf alive on through "you bow to no one" was also especialy bad for me.

I did shed a few tears, particularly towards the end, when the journey had ended and the friends said goodbye, and the greatest trilogy of all-time came to a satisfying end.

Thankfully, for this LoTR fan, the Extended Edition of RotK less than a year away!

Nope. But I don't cry at movies, often. I did feel all warm and fuzzy though when everyone bowed to the hobbits and when I saw the new little hobbit babies at the end there. Hobbit babies will get me everytime. :D

I teared up a few times in it, at the death of Theoden, the final charge of Faramir, and the ending scene, which others have mentioned, but also at the scene at the black gate. The scene where the Eye falls on Aragorn, which was deliberately reminiscent of the temptation of Isildur in the FotR prologue, but where Aragorn overcame the temptation and redeemed his line moved me as well.

In all the trilogy, the scenes where I cried the most were the death of Boromir, Theoden burying his son, and the scene in TTT where Elrond forsees Arwen's lonely fate.

Finally got to see it this afternoon :)

No tears, but got a burning lump in my throat a couple of times. The Pippin song was a rough stretch, and the death of Theoden.

I'm looking forward to the extended edition. I'll agree with the earlier post about feeling rushed; both TTT and ROTK gave me that feeling in the non-combat scenes in theatrical release: just as the emotion is building up, we jump cut somewhere else.

TTT redeemed itself on DVD and brought it up equal with Fellowship to me. I'm sure ROTK will be greater as well when extended (although I loved it as is; it didn't have the disjointed feeling that TTT had to me, just rushed).

Oh, I didn't tear up at the burial scene in Two Towers until they put the singing and funeral back in. That got me :)

One scene, and only one scene got me.

When Arwen sees the boy running thru the woods (then follows him to {spoiler}.

Immediate impact.
Don't know why, really.
Something to do with having a son, I'm sure.

The Gondorians are fleeing Osgilliath.
The Fell Beasts are laying waste to their ranks.
The White Rider comes to aid.
The Staff of the White Wizard ignites, and drives the Nasgul off.

I wept at the utter perfection of that scene.
