No, because an attack of opportunity "interrupts" the normal flow of actions in the round. If an attack of opportunity is provoked, immediately resolve the attack of opportunity, then continue with the next character’s turn (or complete the current turn, if the attack of opportunity was provoked in the midst of a character’s turn).Lopke_Quasath said:Just to get this clear. A Trip attack can be used on an AoO now, right?
So, Improved Trip feat wielders can now CONTINOUSLY (if they win the opposed roll) trip someone??
1- Trip, win check, free attack on prone opponent.
2- Opponent tries to stand, causes AoO
3- Trip attack on AoO, win check, free attack on prone opponent.
4- etc,etc
Is this correct??
Because.....wow....

No 'supposedly' anymore. Completely substitutable for a melee attack.

So, it IS possible to do this!
Hypersmurf said:At the time the AoO is provoked, the opponent is still prone... so you can't trip him. You can hit him... but if he's still conscious, once your AoO is over, he completes the action he took to provoke that AoO - namely, standing from prone.

Of course, if your character has Combat Reflexes and the opponent does something provoking a second AoO after standing back up, then you can trip again.
