CS, I was gone for a bit, and I didn't see anything in email (since you were doing the school thing as well, this is understandable).

Did we ever get a total XP on the Janos Audron adventure?

They started just abut 8 months ago (100XP/month, right?).

I am going back through this thread to see if this post is even necessary in a moment...

Some of you might have heard already, but the SRD has been updated with two sources - Expanded Psionics, and Deities and Demigods.

It might be worth it to discuss these two sources before anyone assumes that they are available for characters.
I know there was a discussion about the 3.0 psionics, and that they were excluded. I do not know whether that was because of a general dislike of psionics, or because they were not yet updated.
Deities and Demigods may not seem a problem at first, but it grants access to a number of domains, spells and feats. Domains is good for deity creation/improvement. But the rest? I guess that has to be discussed.

Feats in the Divine files:
BLINDSIGHT,5-FT.RADIUS [GENERAL]
DISGUISE SPELL [METAMAGIC]
DIVINE MIGHT [DIVINE ]
DIVINE VENGEANCE [DIVINE ]
ENERGY SUBSTITUTION [METAMAGIC]
EXTRA MUSIC [GENERAL]
EYES IN THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD [GENERAL]
FLEET OF FOOT [GENERAL]
HOLD THE LINE [GENERAL]
JACK OF ALL TRADES [GENERAL]
KNOCK-DOWN [GENERAL]
PERSISTENT SPELL [METAMAGIC]
PLANT CONTROL [GENERAL]
PLANT DEFIANCE [GENERAL]
POWER CRITICAL [GENERAL]
REACH SPELL [METAMAGIC]
REPEAT SPELL [METAMAGIC]
SACRED SPELL [METAMAGIC]
SHARP-SHOOTING [GENERAL]
SUBDUAL SUBSTITUTION [METAMAGIC]
SUPERIOR EXPERTISE [GENERAL]

Most of these feats use the revised versions that have been released in different books (such as Persistent Spell having a +6 adjustment).
It seems that only two of them are not updated (Divine Vengeance should be Sacred Vengeance from CW, and Energy Substitution should be Energy Admixture from the MiniHB)

The following Domains were added:
ARTIFICE DOMAIN
CHARM DOMAIN
COMMUNITY DOMAIN
CREATION DOMAIN
DARKNESS DOMAIN
GLORY DOMAIN
LIBERATION DOMAIN
MADNESS DOMAIN
NOBILITY DOMAIN
REPOSE DOMAIN
RUNE DOMAIN
SCALYKIND DOMAIN
WEATHER DOMAIN

<Also, the MIND DOMAIN from the psionics files>

The following Spells were added:
Armor Of Darkness
Blacklight
Bolt Of Glory
Bolts Of Bedevilment
Crown Of Glory
Genesis
Hardening
Maddening Scream
Rage
Surelife
Touch Of Madness
True Creation
Undeath To Death

I think it is easy to see that the Domains and Spells from D&Dg were not updated at all.

To those in Haunted Halls of Stonepike: Telerin's player is pulling out of LEW.
I am fine with having him wander off or whatever, as he could easily just decide to explore the land around Stonepike instead of try and figure out what is killing the Dwarves. I would rather not NPC him in this one, so I am leaning towards having him wander off.
That leaves you all with NO spellcaster, however...
I am fine with someone else joining, providing they are a spell caster of some sort, since there is the option of them having answered the call for aid and being brought by another of the Dwarf Pony Express riders. Thoughts?

Can Mintrik, my human wizard join? He's first level, and still wet behind the ears, but he's hungry for adventure!

No offense intended but IMHO I think that if they are in the SRD then they should be allowed. The SRD has always been our baseline so to leave something out seems counter to the objectives of this project. The question that comes to my mind is 'Should players be allowed to change thier sheet now that these feats and domains are available on the grounds that they would have taken them at chargen if they could?' Personally, I'm inclined to say no. It would make things simpler, again IMHO.

I see this as a opportunity for growth. Where did these domains come from? Obviously from the Gods but where did the Gods get them? Perhaps there has been an upset or a shift in the pantheon? Some Gods might have absorbed portfolios from other Gods. Or, this could represent the genesis of new Gods. With new Gods comes new domains. The old pantheon would probably have mixed reactions. Some would be suspicious of these upstarts and some will welcome the new blood.

On the subject of Psionics I am for it. They are cool although at times don't seem different enough to have a niche. It might make sense if the people who use Psi lived in one remote region. For example, the mountains and floating island near the Tower of Air. Psionics would have a much lesser impact on the world while still allowing PCs take a Psi class.

No offense taken, GK. :)

For what it's worth, I actually agree with you, especially on the domains. But I'm not in the position to make such a decision, so I mostly just wanted to alert those who do make decisions (even though they are not at their full potential at the moment). And I also wanted to note a few problems, especially about the domains and spells from D&Dg not being updated.

As to psionics, as I said, I'm not sure why it was rejected at the time. I suspect it was simply that the ruleset had not been updated, but that is my speculation. There is of course the possibility to have a Psionic Awakening style of "metaplot" for a few adventures.

At the very least, the game started 8 months ago <800XP>. I know that you folks earned another 200XP ata bare minimum, so go ahead and Level your characters to 2nd. I will go back through (again) and try and figure out a fair tangible amount.

The help is much appreciated, Uriel. If it helps, the only actual combat we peformed (other than Jack getting koshed by a pair of slaves, presumably commoner 1) was fighting an animated suit of armor, which couldn't have been much worse than CR 1, 2 at the most and at least 1/2.

I have done up a little of the area surrounding Orussus. It can be found here. I don't think I am stepping on anyones toes as from what I understand Scorpio is working on a map of the whole world. My map is just a small part of it.

You can also look up a site I made dedicated to the development of the setting. It is the Living ENWorld Library. The page is a Wiki which is a little different from what most people are used to. Its part web page and part message board. Anyone can edit any page so you can add your own comments to anything on the site.
