First Post
I have noticed that several role/power source combos have been left empty (probably on purpose). Thus, I have decided to attempt to fill these with a few offbeat concoctions of my own. Starting with the Divine Controller. I intend to do a Divine Striker, an Arcane Defender (abjurer anyone?) and a martial controller (I'm thinking Swashbuckler here. odd, I know, but it works in my head.)
Anyway, here is the beginning of the Metatron. I am still working on his powers (which I have taken to calling Testimonies)
Metatron
“I hold the true voice of my god. He speaks through me to bring low his enemies.”
Class Traits:
>Role: Controller
>Power Source: Divine
>Key Abilities: Charisma, Wisdom, and Constitution
>Armor Proficiencies: Cloth
>Weapon Proficiencies: Simple Melee, Simple Ranged
>Implements: Holy Symbol, Rod
>Bonus to Defense: +2 to Will
>Hit Points at 1st level: 10+Constitution Score
>Hit Points per Level gained: 4
>Healing Surges per Day: 6+Con Modifier
>Trained Skills: Religion plus three from the list of class skills below: >Diplomacy, Endurance, History, Insight, and Intimidate,
>Build Options: Evangelist or Missionary
>Class Features: Orisons, Ritual Casting, (more as I consider)
Metatrons are quite literally the voices of their god. They share a direct link to divinity that other classes can only hope to achieve. With little more than a whisper, they can silence foes, freeze them in their tracks, or even call down holy fire on them.
The path of the Metatron is not one that a person usually chooses. It is more akin to a calling. You don’t tend to wear heavy armor, as you expect your god to protect you.
Creating a Metatron
Metatrons have a wide variety of abilities. You would expect this from someone whose very voice is the source of his power. They generally fall into one of two categories, the Evangelist and the Missionary.
The Evangelist
Specializing in powers that rain down destruction upon their foes, an Evangelist tends to worship a deity that cares about affecting the world. Select Testimonies that inflict damage, and that reflect an angry god.
The Missionary
Missionaries tend to lead more by example. Their Testimonies tend to hinder foes, though they can do a good amount of damage over a large area as well.
