DM for hire

SILENCE YOU! The first rule of Bugaboo's friends is always maintain the mystique of a true DM. Use it to lord over lesser beings. Never speak of the martyrdom of the holy Bugaboo to the uninitiated!
Bah! If the people don't know of His great sacrifice, they won't come to the churches once they're built, will they? You think the Friends are going to make money off of empty churches? Huh? Man, if Bugaboo were here, he would bust you back down to player status in a heartbeat.

PM me to get my paypal address wherein for a small fee I shall initiate you into the secrets of Bugaboo's most holy text and you can become a true Master of Dungeons!
Nonsense. Shieldheart, don't send Imperialus any money - there's a reason his Friends nickname is "Judas". Send your money to me instead, and I'll see that you're trained in the old ways. The right ways. Cash only, please.

You are sullying your hands with cash? Paypal followed by a rapid conversion to thirty pieces of silver is the only acceptable form of currency! It makes it difficult to buy breakfast burritos at the 7-11 but sacrifices must be made.

Well first decision would be to pick the software and the the player types/style/wants.

After that try to get the first 2 sessions for free.

$2 per person per hour might be a good baseline, with a minimum of $20 per session. Though the price could fluxuate slightly within the first month.

Consistancy, "yes" factor, and player primary are some of the selling points of employing a DM.

So at $20 a session, 3 to 4 times a week at best (assuming you run a few games), you could make perhaps $300-350 a month. That is starving money!

I think I would pay more than that. Probably closer to $15 an hour.

Okay, so the serious question here is: What would it cost to hire a DM on a per hour basis for an online game?
Another serious question: are you trying to trick your way into the Friends by having a name one letter away from mine? Did Imperialus teach you that trick? Figures!

Hewligan has been my online name for years - actually dates back to the pseudonym I used when I wrote for a techno fanzine back in 1996. Hewligan is the name of a comic book character featured in 2000AD, by Hewlett and Milligan (the name is a mix of theirs). Same guy that drew Tank Girl and Gorillaz did the art. Anyway, the short of it was that his hair was so bad, it make the universe go a bit crazy. My hair was mad (had blue cainrows and then red cones when I was younger), and thus the name stuck.
