Provider, then World Builder. Sometimes it goes a bit towards Master of Ceremonies OR Duelist, but first and foremost, I'm a Provider. The latter part (Duelist/Master of Ceremonies) usually means, that I need to play as a player a bit (i.e. slight DM-burn out).

I've seen these titles before, but I don't know what article the OP is referring to. I'd love to vote myself into this thread, but could someone provide a linkey-dink or reference to where I can read this article before answering the poll?
Edit: Duh... nevermind. I see it now. It was that hide in plain sight trick :?

Voted (in order of how much these roles play a part of my DMing style): World Builder, Actor, Master of Ceremonies. Yep. That's me.

Seriously, all of those types are defined not only by what they like, but by their limitations, and none seems to really apply.
You know, I didn't see that aspect in the descriptions, as describing limitations. I quite proudly declare myself as a Plotmeister first and foremost (Joss Whedon is my god), with a few of the Duelist traits (I love for fights to be hairs-breadth away from disaster and lamentations).

I have strong elements of each of those except "Master of Ceremonies". I only do that very rarely, like for extremely key parts of the over all campaign plot. Sometimes not even then.

The only time my "Master of Ceremonies" really comes out is when I run Ravenloft, either the setting or I6. It seems to really work for those two gaming "atmospheres".

The two most dominant for me are probably "Worldbuilder" and "Director", but I have definite elements of "Actor" and "duelist" and "plotmeister" and "Provider" going on in every game session.

I chose Duelist/Provider. Ideally I'd like to have the players drive most things, but I don't know that I'm up to the challenge and I know my players aren't.

A bit of world builder, too, but not very much.

These days I am almost purely a provider. It has been an evolution in my DMing over the past several years, but as I have appreciative players, it is an easy style to maintain.

hmmmm...
Well according to this quiz I am a Master of Ceremonies - interesting.

Basically I'm everything EXCEPT a director or Master of Ceremonies. I tend to be too much of a plotmeister for my players' liking, and too good of a duelist.

I'm probably first and foremost a Director. I like the story, the act of creating the story, and most of the changes and rules I find myself putting into place are done with an eye toward developing the story.

The group I play with is a little more filled with Actors and Worldbuilders. When they sit around and talk about games past it's usually about PC Personalities and NPCs they liked or how the GM had put together a lot of complexity and personality into some aspect of setting.

But they do like their props.

I'm not much for voices and my speaking style tends to be very narrative.

I don't think the definitions of that quiz match up with those given in the OP's link. There is no way in the Dark Abyss that I am a Master of Ceremonies.
