DMG II Announced

I lovelovelovelove the cover. It just hasn't been the same DMing without the efreeti. :D

(You 1st Edition grognards know what I'm talking about.)

Now, I don't hate everything WotC does (just the Races books so far), but this looks like it could be THE quality book from them. It could also be advice more suited to first-time DM's than people who owned the red box, like most of the Dragon articles of this type.

I guess we'll have to see. I have high hopes, but these hopes are often brutally dashed.

The copy on the webpage sounds great. If it comes anywhere close to doing a good job on the topics listed, it'd be a bargain at twice the price.

So, that's one vote for "Either I'm buying it, or I'm losing hope in WotC."

Well, it's a good idea...one far too long in coming, really. But it remains to be seen whether they can pull it off. I guess it will depend on who the authors are. But if RoD is any indication, they've fired everyone who can produce good books, so we'll see what happens.

Authors:Jesse Decker, David Noonan, Chris Thomasson, James Jacobs, Robin D. Laws

My interests were piqued before, but with Laws' involvement this book is almost an automatic sale for me.

Yeah--definitely looks interesting. And I've spent money on plently of books for no other reason than that.

So I guess that means I'll be getting this one too. :D

What I would like to see is a nice, clear chart for advancing creatures. Either by size or HD. Simple, cleanly written. But I'm sure that is too much to ask for...
