DMG II Announced

Chapters include discussion on running a game, designing adventures, building and using prestige classes, and creating campaign settings.

Ohhhh yess!!!

Ready-made game elements include instant traps, pre-generated locations, treasures, and a fully realized and rendered town.

... Could be interesting. The instant traps reminds me of the random charts on the 1st edition Dungeon Master Guide. As for the realized town, I can see "Bigtowne" being copied from now to infinity (almost like Pleasantville or Hotel California, you can never leave).

I'd add a voice to mob and say, "Give us our blue cover". Unless the real cover is black, ala 1st edition D&D, and the printer messed up since he's colorblind. :p

Maybe it's just me, but given all the other stuff that might be wrong or right with this book, I don't really give a crap about the color of the cover. Make it purple -- so what? If it helps me be run a better game with less prep time (as advertised) it doesn't really matter if it's a brown, blue, black, or red cover to me.

At least I know that Robin D. Laws is still alive. He has some of the best ideas for DMing ever. At least, judging by his advice in the back of Feng Shui (down with maps!).

Man, your priorities are so messed up. I mean, get a life. ;)

I have to ask about this last statement. "Down with maps"? Did Robin Laws tell DMs not to bother with maps? If so, why?

I'm intrigued...
