I don't if anyone posted the D&D Beyond Article, but even it ignores the Cosmology chapter.
I do like the Feywild as an addition to the Great Wheel cosmology, if only to have somewhere for the Fey to be and come from.
Sounds good to me. The Demiplane of Shadow from the TSR days was always the most prominent one anyway.I still believe the Shadow type from 4e should have been kept for 5e.
I hope this isn't a sign of how that chapter will be treated in the book. I can't be the only one who finds the Planes intriguing!I don't if anyone posted the D&D Beyond Article, but even it ignores the Cosmology chapter.
Bwimb will remember this slight...Fleshing out the Archfey is something they should do, though I doubt they'll cover every planar power for example. Don't need to really cover Bwimb, unless there's a mention in the Plane of Ooze, it's doubtful there'll be mentions of Arch-Celestials like Prince Talisid or Zaphkiel or whatever the status on Queen Morwel is (she an Archfey or an Arch-Celestial?) unless it's in some general entry on Celestials.
Gotta agree here. The playtest version of bastions was an awful lot of busywork and book keeping for the sake of busywork. It didn't feel like it gave your character anything new. We could already rp having a fort without all the paperwork, and bastions were very careful not to give any actual power either.Like others, I'd be thrilled if the bastion system were good and useful... But the playtest version was so far from even usable that I'd need a lot more than "we made some changes" or whatever the phrasing they used was. It does not speak well for those changes that we don't even have the types of DDB rules previews we got for weapon masteries and such when they were trying to sell deliberate power creep as a feature.
Bwimb is dead, Orcus killed him, no idea how his daughter Bwimb II will handle things.Bwimb will remember this slight...
That's the thing... IF they did so AND those changes are in service of the GM's needs rather than the desires of players who want more power then they should have been excited to talk at length about them and give previews of the text similar to the kinds they made for the phb. Instead we got Krenek gushing with excitement about using them as a player with some new PC and Perkins reminding him of all the things not asked or talked about. I'd love for them to be more than busy work to justify busy work & "MOAR POWAH!", but the threadbare reveal in a video supposedly showcasing it is concerning in ways that do not fill those sails with hope. From the sounds of it, they made major changes, not minor, not sure how much it will resemble the UA version.
As a DM I a have a different view: more power to the PCs. That just let's me make more dastardly villians! That's the thing...
