On another thread we're discussing what players who don't DM bring to the table. Some players feel that they can treat their DM's like crap and then just bribe them with a case of soda or a book.

How do you feel?

POLL: Do you prefer players that stay involved in your game, or players who bribe you but that don't bring any joy to the game?

Well, players that routinely treat me like crap don't get to come back at all, so I end up wondering if you're askign the question that's meaningful.

Hey, you never invited me back to continue that Marvel superheroes game. Darn it, in retrospect I KNEW I shouldn't have draped toilet paper over your gaming room.

HAHA! LOL
I am the first and the only to want to be bribed with 40$ bucks dollars? That can't be! It has happened twice... however, my friend is also a DM and I also gave him a book. It was more like a gift exchange that bribing...
Funny story, one of my players was going to roll a ST, and he asked me if I wanted a piece of chocolate. I nodded and said aloud "you have a +1 chocolate bonus to your roll". That day, all the players received food and drink bonuses, but I banned the bonus from that point onward when one of my players asked "do food bonuses stack?".
LOL more! HAHA

Well, since the options are neither clearly stated, nor exhaustive, nor mutually exclusive, it's awfully hard to come up with a reasonable answer. What a terrible poll. It's blatantly designed to get a specific answer, but in such a way that the results won't reflect anything meaningful.

I once had a DM who demanded tribute, in the form of cash. Never again.

Me? I want my players to not only enjoy the game, but to expand on my enjoyment of it too!

I have all the stuff I need. (Well, relatively speaking. I don't wipe with gold-leaf paper or anything, but I'm not starving by any means.) So I prefer players who are involved.

They (players) will never be as involved as you (DM) will be, however. That realization is one the most important ones you can make. Come to terms with it, accept it, and move on.
