Yay for all the video game sountracks Arwyn mentioned. I simply must recommend the Minibosses (http://minibosses.com/) for all your video game music needs. Classic NES music done by a rock quartet (2 guitar, bass, drums) and done really well.

The first print of their EP is sold out, but they'll definately make another run, and their album is due out this Summer. You can get Castlevania 3 and Mega Man 2 from their websites right now!

I suggest you do.

Going back to the original post, if Orrf's your thing, definately check out Richard Einhorn's Voices Of Light: An Oratorio Inspired By The Film The Passion Of Joan Of Arc. I haven't seen the 1928 film yet, but the Einhorn's music is amazing. If you enjoyed the trope of medieval text set to 20th century classical music that Orrf used, this will be right up your alley. A worthy, though depressing, addition to any gaming table. Just make sure that you listen to it without any distractions, too.

Dave Greenslade's "soundtrack" to the Discworld novels! :D

It's the only background music we've ever used while playing, and it was only used once; that one weekend we tested out our homemade discworld d20 game... :p

*Felix is furiously scribbling down all the suggestions*

"Wait a bloody second, it's already written! Blarg!"

Thanks folks, and keep 'em comin!

I've always been fond of Godspeed You Black Emperor for that apocolyptic sound (Not familiar with them? Seen 28 Days later? They play some Godspeed when Jim is walking around London in the beginning and I think there might be some Godspeed when Jim goes to free Hannah and Selena)
