Not surprising right? D&D Beyond is a great tool. And 2020 should be a good year for online tools.
Now, I'm trying to figure out a strategy of whether to buy my sources in the future: dead tree, D&D Beyond or VTT. I only buy adventures on VTT. I don't see the point of getting them on DDB unless I would run them purely TotM (which I don't). But I'm split on sourcebooks.

EDIT: DDB had an even better sale on Cyber Monday, discounting 33% for any $29.99 book. I'm curious to see if the younger crowd is forgoing the hardcover for purely online.

I picked up the 6 core books for D&D Beyond using that sale and also bought a license for Foundry VTT which was also on sale. Glad to know I contributed...:D

I believe if you own the books on D&D Beyond, there's a way to access them in Foundry without having to re-purchase them.

It's not just the younger crowd, I only buy books sporadically now and that's mostly to support a local game store.

Yea, I've been playing since the 70's, so not the younger crowd and I can say every 5th edition book I've bought I bought digital (FG).

There are a couple modules that you can get for Foundry, but both depend on DDB not doing anything to stop it. They are not officially supported by DDB. I use VTT Asset's VTTA-DNDbeyond.
