Do Bards gain extra known spells from high Char.?

Wizards do, Sorcerer's do not... and the PHB says nothing specific about Bards. Bards are more like Sorcerer's in that they cast similarly to a Sorcerer, but I imagine that instead of coming from his/her blood, it comes from the song they weave (which is a non-rules argument I could see for allowing bonus spells known from a Char. bonus). I had been doing my bard without these spells, but after I read the Wizards article "Phenomenal Cosmic Power":

and the passage:....
...err... ummmnnn... maybe the fixed this passage... it used to say that a 2nd level bard with a 16 Char. would have 3 1st level spells...

Well... maybe I just answered my own question.

Oh well, unless any of you guys have a good suggestion, Gestalt Wrathmoor will be stuck at his few # of spells known.

thanks,

Neither bards nor sorcs gain extra _spells known_ as a result of high Cha. They both gain extra _spells per day_, though.
