I enjoy painting miniatures, though I've fallen out of practice recently. I abhor the D&D plastic miniatures - poorly painted, squidgy things.

hells, yes. I play strategic games and sold my soul to Games Workshop long ago.

7000 points dwarves
6000 points chaos marines
1500 points eldar
2000 points ststers of battle
2500 points Khemri undead
8 distinct mordheim warbands
countless single figures

When I first started playing, we didn't have any minis. So to me, no. They are a nice add-on, but they are outside of the game's core to me.

Post a picture. I wanna see that army looks like...

Anyways, i love minis. Collect and paint the metals ones and the DDM ones. That said, i don't use most of the minis i have in games. Just don't play enough, and i'm playing more than i'm DMing right now. Still, with every new set advertised i get pretty excited. WotDQ looks like a winner!

I definitely consider painting minis as part of my RPG hobby.

I haven't painted in a really long time. I miss doing it. My painting space in the basement has been crowded out by other things, as has my time to paint.

I don't paint minis, but I bought Privateer Press' Hurricane Vlad for charity, and I've just ordered a Protectorate of Menoth battlebox and a Circle Orboros warpack.

EDIT: PPS rocks my socks in so many ways it's not even funny.
