Do You Like Advanced Monsters and Prestige Class Examples in your Books?

I really like advanced monsters. Not only do they provide longer term use for something that you have used before, it also gives you a cool monster to lead the pack and can give you ideas on advancing other monsters. I'm usually too lazy to advance my own monsters.

As for sample NPCs and PrCs, those should be relegated to websupport. Yes, they can come in handy sometimes, but their overall use is so focused that I would never put them in a print product and waste space. Personally, I never read them. I'd rather include another item, a feat, a spell, or something similiar.

I think advanced monsters are a neat idea, despite the fact that may campaigns are normally lower level, and I have only ever used one.

The NPC examples really do take up to much space, but I would be much happier if they left off some of the repetative power descriptions, and instead put in some sort of personality or background, this would be far more usefull and easy to steal or alter. SOME small concession that D&D is not only about the stats.

Im not bitter.

I'd like to see the PrC used in unusual ways, and not always in they way they seem to be intended... and it's also the little bit of backstory that really piques my interest.
the various dragons in the Draconomicon, because they didn't do anything *unusual* with them. I like their backstories, but all they take are combat

Which books have any backstory on NPC Examples ?
alright Draconomicon - I really liked the dragon personality for every age catagory - more of this please ! but was there any backstory for sample NPC classes?
