Do you need more dice?

Yet another reason to "need" new dice...

My wife and I are both superstitious about our dice. We like to have a different set for each new player character. Old dice seem to have a way of rolling bad when used for the 'wrong' character. :D

I don't understand the question. I keep reading and reading it over and over again, but there's something about it that my brain refuses to accept. It has something to do with dice, right? Mmmmmm. Dice.

:D

 My reaction exactly.

My group recently 'converted' to gamescience dice and I almost managed to infect my madness on them. I currently have about 15 sets of gamescience dice as well as a C-3P0 head cookie jar that is literally stuffed with dice from other companies. It is about 12 inches high and 6 inches across. My wife now has 6 sets of gamescience dice and has indicated she'd like a few more sets

The superstitious thing is so funny - I know what you mean of course and I am the same way, but it is funny when some dice could roll really bad for you, but someone else is fine with using them...

For example, one of my brothers got upset one day with the d20 in his set, so he scooped up the entire set, walked over and dumped them in the trash. At that, my OTHER brother ran over and got them out... "I'll take em if you are just gonna throw em away", haha. We (many of us) are so superstitious when it comes to dice, that we would not even use someone else's dice that are rolling poorly - and then there are others who see them as the tools they really are, with no reason to ever get rid of em, hehe.

I bought somewhere like 8 full sets of Gamescience dice, with a few extras here and there, earlier this year.

I still want more, though!

Up until about eighteen months ago, I'd buy new dice about every second con. However, I seem to have kicked the habit - at that point, I got myself a decent dice bag, and a really nice set of matt-finish translucent violet dice that I use as my primaries, which I carry along with two spare sets and a few oddities, and somehow those have become "my dice", and remained so despite the siren calls of new dice sets in the time since.

That said, I go for dice sets based on visual appeal, so if there happen to be any particularly enticing ones at the con next January, I may find myself giving in.

I've never really fallen prey to the whole dice fetishization/superstition thing.

I picked up a few bulk bags of opaque primary coloured dice a few years ago and have been fine with that ever since.

just say to her " Hey are those new shoes?" or "Is that a new purse?"

You get the idea.

also if you have a cat just tell her there in case the cat knocks one under the fridge or stove.
