that is true, however if I have to drive 45-60mins and that again back for a session, I would rather have extra 1,5-2hrs of game play.

20-30mins is top that I am willing to make a drive for a session.
Not me. I’ve driven up to an hour and we had one player who had closer to a two-hour drive. But 1. It was a fantastic game. 2. It was made up of old college friends who hardly got to see each other otherwise and 3. It was twice a month.

Both.

I have a weekly online game I run for my 11yo and his friends, who all live 3,00 miles away from me, a weekly game I run for the family members who can meet in my living room, and a weekly game I used to run at a FLGS but will soon be moving to a local goblin-themed coffee and chocolate shop.

Online. The one group has someone a state away, so we're staying that way. The other group could meet in person, but we've come to really enjoy the convenience of online gaming.

In person only. Played on line during covid, but wasn't for me. Big part of ttrpg appeal for me is hanging out with friends and having screen free group activity (and having some me time with friends without wife/kids around). Between on line gaming and no gaming, i would rather just not play at all.

Do you play Dungeons and Dragons online or in person? Or does it change depending on what is most convenient?
in person.
I much prefer in-person (my D&D home game is in person only) and playing at conventions.
However, I run a weekly VtM & WtA game on discord (though 3 of the players are locals from my D&D group and the 4th lives in WA).

There is nothing, nothing like the in person experience IMO. Playing online is mostly an inconvenience for me as GM but Ive learned to deal with it.
