D&D (2024) Do you think they will add more races to PHB2024 to make up for dropping other stuff?

Like they are reverting so much, does anyone else think they will try and make up for it by adding more PHB races?
No, because they aren't cutting space, theybare just reverting how an option is written out. They are changing the design in place, not cutting word count.

I think it is possible that they will include more robust and obvious "thisnis how you can play this as a PC" stuff in the MM, though, similar to Monsters of the Multiverse having expanded options. So maybe the MM will include Ardlings anyway, as a hidden option.

What? Saving 6 dollars a year for the 10 years between the two PHB is such a hardship that you can't understand why someone might bother?

For some of us... dropping another $60 to replace our original PHB with a new version is not that much of an issue, and ANY changes and fixes are more than enough to make the investment worthwhile. Heck, some players out there have bought the SAME Player's Handbook multiple times in hardcover, D&D Beyond, Roll20, Fantasy Gounds, and so forth and have done so happily.
I don't understand them either, unless they have an actual use for extra copies. The need for additional VTT versions is one reason why I don't extensively use VTTs.

They won't need to find new content to fill the PHB with. They're not really cutting anything(other than a few Wizard Subclasses) and they're adding stuff to the 2014 PHB. I expect that it will have MORE pages than the 2014 one. Or if not more pages, a significantly improved layout to cram information in.

Legacy/Grandfather clause. I drop both in my own, but as you remember, I'm not a fan of removal of things the game released with.
I don't care one whit for half-elves or half-orcs, and I agree with you. They should be in there so that people can remake old characters using the new rules or just because some players like/want them. They could be renamed something like Elf-kin and Orc-kin, or something to that extent, if the term "Half-x" is objectionable.

Yep. This one is fraught with land mines, so best for Wizards to at least try and thread the needle, but it should be from a backwards compatability/legacy perspective only imo. If someone's played a half-elf for 20 years for whatever reasons they have, who are we to deny that at the basic PHB level when it was there on release.

I'm still annoyed with what they did to my Tiefling, and they at least have been working to correct it.

They're also increasing the font size.
I expect more pages and more content
