Do you use minis?

With the focus on minis in the revised edition, the debate has been sparked (1.) as to whether or not people use miniatures.

I do. I love 'em. Expensive pain's in the butt though and time-consuming to say the least. But I still love 'em. Ooh, and I love cardboard cutouts of buildings too! Now if only I could afford Hirst molds...

I don't.

I play online, I can't use them, I would think they're just a hastle and just Uh Uh.

I could see the usefulness of them in a tabletop game, but still.

Well, like I said in the other thread, I'll use them occasionally, if a battle is so large and complex that we can't keep track any other way.

9 times out of 10, though, I don't use them, and--given the experience I've had with them--don't want to start.

(Can't actually answer the durn poll, though. Stupid boards...)

Eh, why complicate matters? I figured this was an either or debate. In your case, you would be in the affirmative.

Can't agree with your logic there, Four. By that reasoning, I'm an affirmitive vote, when I hate, loathe, despise, and otherwise can't stand miniatures. I only use them when it makes things easier for everyone else, and even then, only when I must.

If I had to choose definite yes or definite no, it'd be no 15 times out of 10.

Well, if a mod pops by then they can change it and add an 'Other' option if they like.

We've been using mini's since 1982 in D&D, Champions, etc.

Works very well.

I use miniatures by the bucketload... Heck, I'm even painting up minis as my characters in the online games I'm playing...

Miniatures becoming an integral part of D&D rules worries me, though. This is Dungeons & Dragons, not Warhammer Quest. By making this a minis game, they're taking away from the original flavour.

However, since there's little we can do about it, I just hope they start selling battlemats, too.
