David Morrissey to star in Doctor Who Christmas special featuring deadly Cybermen

David Tenant, the 10th Doctor, was seen with the cast in period costume engulfed in a fake snow storm on the early evening shoot

College Green was covered with artificial snow for a scene filmed on Monday, in which mourners in Victorian costume marched in front of a horse-drawn cart carrying a coffin.

Tennant was dressed in the Doctor's trademark ankle-length brown coat, while Morrissey was in kitted out in full period garb - a tan knee-length jacket and red waistcoat.

It is unclear who is in the coffin ? but at one point Tennant stands by with a grim expression and watches the hearse pass him.

A security guard sat in front of the Tardis, which was tucked down a nearby alleyway, covered by a white sheet.

Tennant waved to the crowds as the crew prepared the intricate set and covered the surrounding historic buildings with fake snow.

Gloucester is often used as a film location because of its historic buildings ? the Harry Potter films have been shot in the cathedral.

In light of the possible regeneration, I wonder what to make of Professor Riversong's previous comments to the Doctor now. Do they tend to indicate that when they next meet, it will be with him in a different form?

I took her "you're younger than I've ever seen you" comment (whatever it was specifically) to mean that in his current regeneration (Ten) he was younger than the incarnation/s that she knew him in, and not that Ten had just gotten older by the time she met him. I think it was written generically enough that it could be taken that way, anyway.

As for the Judoon, you have a good point about that. They could be doing contract work elsewhere, or even there at the Shadow Proclamation hub (or perhaps this is a clan of Judoon that went "legit" and isn't for hire.) Hadn't thought about those ideas.

Nah, it doesn't make sense that way.

If she knew a future incarnation the she would not have been surprised that he didn't recognise her because it would have been immeidtately obvious (just by seieng which incarnation he was in) when in his life this was. So she must have known him while he looked like Tennant.

Possibly. I see your point, but I raise you- she might not have known what his earlier incarnations looked like (I don't think the Doctor keeps photos of himself around the TARDIS that I recall), so could have thought that this was a regeneration of him from later in the line from when she knew him.

I believe her guess as to where he was in his personal timeline was "By your face, I'd say early days" and then proceeded to ask if they had done various things yet to establish how far ahead of him she was.

Although I suppose you could twist the meaning to say something like "Oh, but she might have ment that it was early days for this new regeneration she hadn't seen before that was further on from when she knew him", it wouldn't make sense for her to then go over her journal as if she were further along in his personal timeline than he was.

Honestly, I see where you are coming from, but it seems like what happened on screen would have to be twisted around much more to make any sense the way you suggest.

Possibly. I'd have to rewatch the scene to be exactly sure how it all came across. I do recall at the time having the same thoughts as the rest of you, but then also thinking that it was presented vaguely enough that it could be interpreted other ways.

My thought at the time was that she was referring to him being an earlier incarnation, too. I'll also have to rewatch, but it seemed really clear at the time.
